performed with passion by the stars of today and tomorrow. Join the Don Wright

Faculty of Music in its recently renovated Paul Davenport Theatre and discover the

new sound created by improved acoustics. To celebrate this beautiful space, the

Paul Davenport Theatre Series launches October 25. Each of the three concerts will

focus on French music. Also, the rst four 12:30 Fridays series will take place in the

new theatre, giving audiences a chance to hear piano, choral and instrumental

music in the new hall before returning to the series’ usual home in the recital hall.

The smaller von Kuster Hall has also received a facelift. Almost 300 performances

will be given in these halls, as well as a few venues around campus and the city.

Don’t miss our popular Art & Music chamber series in the McIntosh Gallery and a

new series in the D.B. Weldon Library starting in October. Original works composed

and played by students, centuries-old music, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, jazz and

everything in between are showcased by students, faculty and guest artists.

Check our website at www.music.uwo.ca for updates – some stellar performances

are still in the planning stages and you won’t want to miss them.

It’s the most popular version of the rake’s punishment, or Don Juan’s I did it My Way. But before he is dragged to hell, Don Giovanni is the charming, seductive nobleman. His servant Leporello assists the Don in rakish pursuits, luring, distracting or wooing women, wearing disguises and taking the blame for his master’s behaviour – grumbling all the time. Zerlina, the blushing bride, is saved from infamy by Elvira - once seduced herself by the Don and still in love with him. Anna, is also saved from conquest, by her father the Commendatore. He is killed in a duel by Giovanni, but haunt-ingly returns for a aming nish. Don’t miss this spectacular twist to Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner.
