Dynamite Management Australia Pty Ltd ATF Dynamite Management Australia Trust trading as Dynamite Studios Academy (DSA) is proudly the Gold Coast’s only Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for Dance and Musical Theatre. As an RTO (40479), DSA is regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) for the provision of Vocational Education and Training Services in accordance with the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011.

Registered in 2012 as an RTO, DSA is situated on the northern end of the beautiful Gold Coast. Under the leadership

of Artistic Director, Abbe Bradbury, this boutique Performing Arts facility has grown into one of the most successful

Vocational Education and Training (VET) facilities in Queensland. DSA has developed a collection of accredited programs

to ensure clear pathways are available for students serious about a career in the Performing Arts.

Partnerships have been developed with industry to provide a range of exciting opportunities for students including, but

not limited to, professional paid work.

ABOUT USDYNAMITE STUDIOS ACADEMY

Dynamite Studios Academy (DSA) is far more than a Performing Arts organisation. DSA is nestled in the heart of the Gold Coast’s entertainment precinct and offers a range of programs from a Performing Arts High School, Nationally Accredited Qualifications from Certificate II to Diploma Leveland a collection of professional development opportunities for industry professionals. DSA programs are the perfect blend between dance industry training, experience and education for the purpose of creating well rounded and informed artists.


Abbe began her career as a Singer/Dancer/Actor

in Queensland 20 years ago. Along with her own

performance career in entertainment, Abbe has

obtained many qualifications, including Diploma of

Musical Theatre, Certificate IV in Dance & Certificate

IV in Training and Assessment. Abbe also became a

qualified international Voice Teacher of Mix and was

awarded Gold Coast Young Business woman of the year

in 2010.

Well-appointed as Course Advisor, Erin O’Flaherty

graduated from QUT with a double degree: Bachelor

of Creative Industries (Dance) and Bachelor of

Education (Secondary), graduating with honors. Erin

has also had a professional dance career that has

spanned over 13 years.

Erin joins a core faculty of trainers and assessors,

dance educators, choreographers, industry specialists

and resident artists from all around Australia who work

with our students .

PERFORMING ARTS HIGH SCHOOL (YEARS 7-12)

COURSE SUMMARY

Dynamite Studios Academy Performing Arts High School is a DSA innovation, providing a unique opportunity to students

who want to work towards a Performing Arts Career while they are completing Secondary School Studies. It is a full-time

program for students in Years 7 to 12 who display exceptional talent in the performing arts.

Dynamite Studios Academy Performing Arts High School combines compulsory educational subjects and quality

performance classes in a friendly but structured environment.

Students of the Dynamite Studios Academy Performing Arts High School are more than just talented; they have passion,

drive, a high level of commitment to their performance craft and are focused on pursuing a career in the arts. The DSA

program is available for Performing Arts High School students from 9:00am – 12:00pm Monday through Thursday and

9:00am – 2:00pm on Friday. The High School program is coordinated by a qualified school teacher.

Vocational Education & Training (VET) programs are available to students in grades 9 and 10. Students depending on their

dance experience can enroll in the Certificate II in Dance or the Certificate III in Dance and complete that alongside their

secondary studies. Students in grades 11 and 12 may complete their Secondary School Certificate and a Certificate III or

Certificate IV in Dance (whichever is more appropriate to their skill level and capability). High School students also have the

option to participate in Trinity College London Musical Theatre and Vocal examinations. A pre-enrollment interview with

Artistic Director and Course Advisor may determine the most appropriate entry point for a student.

Dynamite Studios Academy’s Certificate III in Dance is a part time program offered (but not limited) to students in years

eleven (11) and twelve (12) at any secondary school. This course is generally offered one full day per week and follows

the Queensland School term timetable, typically on a Thursday or Friday, 9.00am to 3.30pm, four terms a year over a

two-year period. Students may complete the Certificate III in one year and this would be negotiated in a pre-enrollment

interview. DSA’s CUA30113 Certificate III in Dance will build on the dance foundation a student has established during

Certificate II studies. The Certificate III in Dance compliments a student’s Secondary School studies with credit points

towards the QCE, adding a total of 8 credit points.

The CUA30113 Certificate III in Dance has thirteen (13) units of competency, six (6) Core units and seven (7) Electives

units. Uniquely, DSA offers Certificate III students the option of study in two (2) streams.

COURSE SUMMARY

Dynamite Studios Academy’s CUA40113 Certificate IV in Dance is delivered over a one (1) year period. This course is

a program that requires commitment, a high level of participation and time management as it is the link to the world

of professional performance. The workload is intensive and challenging and the rewards are endless. DSA has built

strong links with industry professionals nationally and overseas and has established their Certificate IV program based

on that collaboration and developed benchmarks. DSA also recognises that talent is developed at various stages, as is

technique and stagecraft. With this knowledge DSA offers the Certificate IV with two options of study:

Option one (1) as a fulltime program – Monday to Friday 9.00am - 3.30pm over four terms that follow the Queensland

School Term. The fulltime program is developed for the student who has left school. Students who enroll in the fulltime

program are able to attend unlimited open classes, at no additional cost.

Option two (2) a part-time program – up to 22 contact hours a week over four terms that follow the Queensland School

Term. Students who are still in Year 12 at Secondary School may enroll in the Certificate IV and add credit points to their

CUA40313 CERTIFICATE IV IN DANCE TEACHING AND MANAGEMENT

COURSE SUMMARY

The Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management aims to facilitate the development of professional skills in business

operations, lesson planning, first aid and learning program development as well as a broad range of elective subjects.

This program is designed for the dance teacher by experienced dance teachers and managers. Students who successfully

complete this qualification will enhance their employability and preparation for further career opportunities.

DS Academy offers the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management as a flexibly delivered product over twelve (12)

months. A range of delivery options have been developed for the busy dance teacher which includes, but is not limited to:

• 20 Week (6 month) intensive program which includes face to face delivery workshops, self-directed study and

assessments.

• 12 month/ 48 week program combining twelve (12) monthly face to face or electronic conferencing and self-

directed study and assessments.

• Build your own program – this option is for the experienced teacher or trainer who is able to work in a self- managed

study option. DS Academy will issue learning resources and assessments unit by unit or in a cluster and the student

can work at their own pace over a twelve month period. Very experienced trainers and assessors are available as

support with the student choosing this option of study via email or phone with a response of 48 hours guaranteed.

An added bonus on offer with this product is an invitation to our Certificate IV Dance Teaching and Management. Students

can join us on the various experience days we schedule throughout our Academy year to gain experience alongside some

of the best trainers and choreographers from around the country. This is an opportunity to experience firsthand the latest

choreographic techniques, teaching skills, self-management and all aspects of running a Performing Arts business across a

Dynamite Studios Academy’s Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) is the next step in the professional dance training

journey. The Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance), unlike the Certificate courses, focuses students on developing the

skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career, setting and achieving goals in real-world situations.

Dynamite Studios Academy offers their Diploma of Dance as a full-time program delivered over one year and follows the

Queensland School Term Timetable. The Diploma of Dance runs four days a week from 9:00am to 3:30pm Monday to

Thursday, with a half day on Friday from 9:00am – 1:00pm.

The Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) has seventeen (17) units of competency, comprising of nine (9) Core Units and

eight (8) Elective Units. Uniquely the Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) offers students two streams of study to cater

for varying strengths, career aspirations and elite professionals.

Commercial Dance – incorporates (but not limited to), Contemporary, Showgirl, Ballet, Commercial Jazz, Lyrical, Hip

COURSE SUMMARY

The Diploma of Musical Theatre course is an intensive two-year training program for students who have the potential to achieve

excellent standards in the three core disciplines of singing, acting and dance. This program aims for each student to develop the

rigor and skill to be competitive in the industry and graduate with highly developed skills in dancing, singing and acting.

The program is driven by industry professionals and delivered by practicing artists. Training is practical with a distribution

of classes in singing, acting and dance, in ensemble, solo and musical theatre repertoire. Students will get the opportunity

throughout the program to showcase their skills in live performance. Dynamite Studios Academy offers their Diploma of

Musical Theatre as a full time program that follows the Queensland School Term Timetable. The Diploma of Musical Theatre

run four days a week, from 9:00am to 3:30pm Monday – Thursday, with and a half day on Friday from 9:00am – 1:00pm.

FACILITIES

Dynamite Studios Academy is located in Upper Coomera on the northern end of the Gold Coast, and is an established Performing Arts education and training facility. DSA has four large professional dance studios, a multi- purpose X-Studio housing all acrobatics, aerial, free running and fitness

classes and extra singing and study spaces.

GETTING TO DSA

Dynamite Studios Academy is only a 2.4km walk from

Coomera Train Station, and an 800m walk from the

closest bus station.

Free onsite parking is available for students who hold

a current driver’s license. Coomera City Centre is a

new development just around the corner from the

studios, which has a Woolworth’s supermarket and

20 specialty outlets.

OFFERS

DSA will advise students of an offer within five

(5) working days of the first interview, audition or

experience day (whichever is the most relevant). Each

student selected to enter DSA accredited programs will

receive a Letter of Offer. This is an official Letter of Offer

into the Academy. When accepting the offer, a student

has 28 days to notify DSA to secure their place in the

program.

DSA also offers a fourteen (14) day cooling off period

where you still have the opportunity to decline

the offer. You are encouraged to read the Student

Handbook, available on our website www.dsa.com.au,

to give you a broader understanding of the company

and how DSA operates. A copy of DSA TERMS AND

CONDITIONS will be attached to the Letter of Offer.

chosen program is a commitment. If you have any

Dynamite Studios Academy has a waiting list for each

of its programs and it would be most appreciated that

if an offer is declined, then notification to DSA is at

the earliest convenience so that offers can be made to

other students.

Once you have chosen to accept your offer, please

inform DS Academy at your earliest convenience to

secure a student’s enrollment, as spots are limited, and

not guaranteed for chosen intake.
