The ADDIE Model• ADDIE stands for analysis, design,

development, implement, and evaluate.

• The ADDIE model could be used to design a new orientation program for the university sports medicine department.

Analysis• the instructional problem is clarified,

the instructional goals and objectives are established and the learning environment and learner's existing knowledge and skills are identified

Design & Development

• This phase deals with learning objectives, assessment instruments, exercises, content, subject matter analysis, lesson planning and media selection. The design phase should be systematic and specific.

• Instructional designers and developers create and assemble the contents that were blueprinted in the design phase

Implementation• a procedure for training the

facilitators and the learners is developed

• Preparation of the learners include training them on new tools.

Evaluation• This phase consists of two parts:

formative and summative. • Formative evaluation is present in

each stage of the ADDIE process. • Summative evaluation consists of

tests designed for domain specific criteria providing opportunities for feedback from the users which were identified

Conclusion• Orientation provides a building block

and foundation for all employees. It is vital that organizations invest time, money and commitment to develop orientation programs that will benefit the whole organization.
