Agency 3D VBS,

June 22-26, 2014;

6-8:55 p.m.

Vacation Bible School is just

around the corner and I need your

help to make it the best ever! VBS

remains one of the best evangelistic

tools our church has. We have an

opportunity to lead many boys and

girls and their families to faith in

Jesus Christ. But, in order to do

that, we need the children here.

Will you help me get the word out

about our Vacation Bible School?

With your help, we can invite our

neighbors and friends. Use

Facebook and Twitter, the

invitation cards our church makes

available, and your personal

outreach to invite people to

Vacation Bible School. As much as

I want our own church children to

have a wonderful time at VBS, I

am much more burdened about

reaching boys and girls who do not

know Jesus. Without your help,

people in our community will not

know about VBS. So whether you

have children at home or not,

please help us promote this

wonderful opportunity to share the

gospel. This year’s theme is

AgencyD3: Discover, Decide,

(Continued on page 2)

Write regularly. This can be

via email or a regular letter.

Include information, photos,

news articles that might

interest them, etc.

Maintain your relationship

with them. Be aware that

they may not be able to write

back regularly.

Tell them you are praying

for them, and tell them

specifically what you are

praying for.

Resist giving advice or

ideas, or asking a list of

questions. Make the letter a

blessing, not a homework

assignment!

Give them feedback about

the newsletters or

information they may have

sent.

Remember them on

birthdays and special

holidays with a card or

small gift.

When emailing, consider

the sensitivity of the area

they are serving. If it's a

closed country, they may not

be able to receive

information that explicitly

speaks of the Lord. Consider

that. Also, large photo

attachments may bog down

their service provider. Keep

attachments small.

Remember any time

differences when calling

overseas! A great gift for

missionaries is international

telephone cards, which allow

them to make calls from

abroad.

* Finally, consider visiting!

A short visit may take

planning, but can greatly

encourage a missionary.

Defend. We are going to

help boys and girls

discover the evidence

about who Jesus really is.

The Theme Verse: But

honor the Messiah as Lord

in your hearts. Always be

ready to give a defense to

anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope

that is in you. (1 Peter 3:15). The Daily Theme

Points: Is Jesus Really God’s Son?; Was Jesus

More Than Just a Good Man?; Was Jesus’

Death Real?; Is Jesus Alive?; What Do I Do

with the Evidence About Jesus?

I also need your help in volunteering to make

VBS possible. No matter what your skill level

or time availability, we could use your help.

This is not merely a children’s ministry event.

This is a church wide event. We need all hands

on deck. Contact the church office or Ms. Dena

to find out how you can serve. Do it today. We

need to know as early as possible who we can

count on to make this the greatest Vacation

Bible School in the history of our church!

Haiti Mission Trip - July 28-August 4, 2014

Please continue to pray for our 2014 team as

they plan for their upcoming trip.

Please pray specifically for the following

needs:

Part of their mission while in Haiti will

include building shelves and sprucing up

a room to be used as a library/playroom.

Pray for God to provide the funding and

supplies needed to accomplish this

project and any others He may have for

the team.

Pray for each team member: Bob

Holcomb, Becky Holcomb, April Spears,

Eric Supan, Pam Supan and Madi

Coulter, who will be joining the team

from Franklin, NC. Pray that they would

be spiritually prepared, flexible, and

protected as they travel. Pray as well for

their families while they are away.

Pray for God’s provision. The

approximate total cost for the FCBC

team members will be $7,500 - $8,000.

Please pray for God to touch the hearts of

those He would have to give and that all

financial needs will be met.

Please begin to pray for the donations

needed. We will begin collecting

supplies for the team to carry down on

June 1st & also during VBS. Pray for

God to provide the exact items needed:

Peanut butter; diaper sizes 2, 3, 4, & 5;

baby wipes; all cotton bras (no under-

wire) of various sizes; boys undershirts;

underwear for boys and girls of various

sizes; and bar soap. Cotton fabric

donations are also needed for April

Spears as she will be sewing hair

scrunchies and skirts for the older girls.

Pray for our Cabaret missionaries Mike

& Bonnie and Ryan & Stacie.

Pray that each child would come to know

Christ personally and grow in their

relationships with Him!

Pray for those children who are at

various stages of the adoption process,

that barriers would be removed, for

financial need s to be met, and for

smooth transitions as those that are

finalized move from Haiti to the U.S.

If you would like to make a donation to the

team fund, please write “Haiti Mission Trip”

on the Special Offering line of your offering

envelope. Thanks so much for all your

prayers & support!!

LifeGroup Series

When you were little, what did you

dream about becoming? An astronaut? A

ballerina? A professional wrestler?

Whatever it was, chances are it was

something that you felt was important.

Something big. That’s the thing about

little kids - they dream big because no

one has told them that they can’t do

something yet. They literally have no

limits. But it’s different when we get

older, isn’t it? In middle school and high

school, we start to see the areas we lack

for the first time. We’re not the most

popular or influential. We aren’t the most

talented. And eventually we start to

wonder if we can ever do or be

anything significant. The big-

dreaming days of our childhood feel long

gone under the weight of our all-too-

limiting reality. That’s exactly what

happened in the life of a guy named

Moses. With a tough past and not many

real skills, he had no reason to believe

that his life would be used do anything

extraordinary. But, after a few encounters

with God, Moses’ perspective changed

completely. He found that, with God,

there is no limit to what you can do.
