Fr. Bill Cieslak, OFM Cap from Chicago will preside and preach at our weekend Masses this weekend. He then will lead our Renewal (this week) September

27-30. Please make every effort to participate. Our future depends on it, i.e. on being renewed in grace to follow Jesus and to continue his mission through our parish ministries. We cannot give what we don’t have. Strengthening our faith and rekindling our zeal to share it will be assured through participation in this Renewal. Everyone is welcome! Please do the inviting! I expect you to say Yes to God, thus have resolve to overcome obstacles, the usual excuses, enduring some hardship because your faith – our parish – means a lot to you. The Pastoral Region Plan draft is ready for review by each Pastoral Council. A presentation was made at our Pastoral Council meeting on Tuesday September 22nd, 7:00 p.m. in the St. Francis Meeting Room. Before it goes to the Archbishop in January, parishioners of each parish will have a chance to review it as well.

Our thanks and appreciation goes to Larry Kahles who does many varied tasks for our parish. Larry is always the first one here to open doors, turn on lights and heat/air conditioning, prepare our church for Mass, etc. Larry also serves as Mass coordinator, Eucharistic Minister, Server, etc., at our liturgies and many other behind the scene tasks.

SM-SJ Four Grand Club

Our Four Grand Club is an easy and fun way to support our parish. The way it works is each week a $40 winner is pulled and at the Annual Turkey Dinner the 4—$1000 winners are pulled. So you have a chance each week to win $40 and also a chance to win one of the $1000 at the Turkey Dinner. The cost is one payment of $48 or two payments of $25 or you can pay $1 a week. The more members we have the more it helps our parish so we invite neighbors and friends to join also. Please consider being a member of our Four Grand Club and help our parish at the same time. There are membership forms at both doors. Thanks to all our loyal Four Grand members through the years!

Sung Vespers – October 4 Sung Vespers will be held on Sunday, Oc-tober 4 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Mount St. Mary's Seminary, 6616 Beechmont Ave-nue, Cincinnati, 45230. The service will be led by faculty member, Fr. Timothy Schehr. PAULA’S CORNER…

Today is an exciting time; the beginning of our Parish Renewal. You have seen and

heard Fr. Bill at Mass and now attend the Renewal to get yourself and our parish back on track. Opening session: 4 pm Sunday Sept 27, 2015 (That is this afternoon) followed by a light supper and time to visit with friends, family, visitors, guests, and Fr Bill. Monday-Wednesday: We offer two options and you can attend the one that fits your schedule the best. 2 pm or 7 pm each is followed by hospitality. Again this is a time to meet new people, renew old friendships and talk with Fr. Bill. Pope Francis has called us to be part of a New Evangelization in the Catholic Church. Put simply, God needs us to do our part, as baptized members of the Church, to bring the word of mercy, peace and reconciliation to the world! St. Margaret-St. John needs you as a parishioner to do your part in making this a dynamic and growing parish. The starting point is here at the parish renewal.

Bring your friends, your family and your neighbors to the Renewal and experience God’s love, mercy and peace!

OUR PRODIGAL GOD We keep having to relearn how prodigal God is. It is as if God cannot quite manage to say no. We think it is surely fine when God is prodigal with us—rich in mercy and forgiveness, generous in grace. But what about the other—the enemy, the sinner, the heretic, the outsider? Well, we expect God to be as stingy with that person as we are. Moses and Joshua wanted such a cozy world, too. They wondered how the spirit of God could be given to the two who did not show up at the meeting tent—today’s church. And the apostles in the Gospel complained because there were some miracle workers who were clearly not followers of Jesus. God’s great free wheeling generosity confounded them all. Let this be, says Jesus. Just see to it that you who lead continue to be worthy of your calling.
