PASTOR`S LETTER
PALM SUNDAY, MARCH 25
Palm Sunday begins the celebration of Holy Week which is finished by the Paschal
Triduum. These are the days that emphasize the most important points of our
faith: the martyrdom, the death on the cross, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The great humility of Jesus who fulfills the will of his Father starts with his
“triumphal” entering into Jerusalem on an ass (donkey, colt). It was a humble sign of fulfilling prophesies about a suffering servant of God, the Messiah. His depriva-
tion and abandonment left him totally in a powerless situation showing his true human condition, called catharsis, in which
a counting on an invisible God borders with heroism of totally trusting in God. This is why the responsorial psalm today,
like an echo, should resound in our ears almost in a form of reproach to God, who keeps silent, but Jesus repeats it as a
sign of totally trusting in God: “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” It is about the situation of man who ex-periences the emptiness and nothingness of life, a man who calls God in time of experience of luck of His presence and
power. Jesus must go through His tests of martyrdom and death in order to show a man that in similar border situations
every man could and should count on Him because He was the first who has passed the border of life and painful death.
After his resurrection He knows what is on other side. This is why He becomes for us a light and hope. The narration of
the Passion of the Lord is for us an example (pattern, paradigm) of the historical struggle of man with the sense of life and
the existence of God. In Jesus Christ we receive the answer, light, and hope. Let us build in Jesus Christ’s cross and resur-rection the sense of our life, suffering and struggles.
Mark in your calendar the date: March 28, Holy Wednesday, 6-8 PM. It will be occasion of the Parish confession before
Easter, with many priests speaking in English, Polish, and Spanish. Holy Saturday the blessing of the baskets: 11 AM.
Czytania dzisiejszej niedzieli, na przykładzie Pasji Jezusa, ukazują dramat człowieka stającego w obliczu próby i bolesnego doświadczenia swej egzystencji. Jezus pokazuje, że w tej skrajnej sytuacji, zwanej w psychologii katarsis, powinno się liczyć
na Boga sprawdzając do granic możliwości swoje bezgraniczne zawierzenie Bogu. Chrystus przeżywając swoją mękę i śmierć, zwieńczoną zmartwychwstaniem, pokazuje źródło siły i nadziei, która pozwala każdemu chrześcijaninowi stawić czoła wszelkim próbom życia, a szczególnie tajemnicy śmierci.
Proszę zaznaczyć sobie najbliższą datę, 28 marca, Wielką Środę, kiedy to w godzinach od 6 do 8 PM będzie można skor-zystać ze spowiedzi wielkopostnej. Przewidzianych jest 10. księży spowiedników. Święcenie pokarmów w nabliższą (Wielką) Sobotę o godz. 12 w południe i 1 PM.

Jesús demuestra que en esta situación extremal que en psicología llamamos catarsis se debe contar con Dion testificando así una total y radical confianza en Dios. Jesucristo, por su martirio, muerte terminada en
la resurrección, nos revela el manantial de nuestra fuerza y esperanza, la cual permite a cada Cristiano enfrentarse a todas las
pruebas de vida, y especialmente al misterio de la muerte.
Marken el día de la confessión cuaresmal, el próximo Miércoles Santo, 28 de marzo, desde 6 a 8 de la tarde, en nuestra par-roquia. Van a venir unos diez sacerdotes confesando en inglés y espanol. Así podemos mejor prepararnos a las fiestas de Nochebuena. El Sábado Santo nos vamos a bendecir los cestos de comida, a las 11 de la mañana.

This is a time for quiet and for spirituality.

Sacrament is not left unattended. Please consider signing
up by choosing a time slot. A signup sheet is located in

Beginning April 5 Our Hours for Adorations during
Daylight Savings times will be on Thursday after the 8:15
am Mass to 5:00 pm, with prayers to the Divine Mercy
at 3 pm in Polish ending with Divine Mercy Chaplet
and benediction in English at 4:45 pm.

GOOD FRIDAY
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of
fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays
during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence.
For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on
fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59.
When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal,
as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a
full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are
binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from
age 14 onwards. Those that are excused from fast and
abstinence outside the age limits include the physically or
mentally ill including individuals suffering from chronic
illnesses such as diabetes. Also excluded are pregnant or
nursing women.
