Giving Freely; Serving Fully: Living Faithfully

Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature – Mk 16:15 Jesus says, “Come to me” in order that he may say, “Go ye therefore”.

We cannot go unless we come to Jesus and put ourselves under his yoke of humanity’s sin and woe. Nor can we come to Jesus unless we also go.

We cannot find rest to our souls unless we take his yoke upon us. Jesus invites us to come in order that we may go.

We come to him that we may go for him and with him to bring in the Kingdom of God.

CALL TO WORSHIP

HYMN OF PRAISE - Stir your church, O God our Father

1. Stir your church, O God, our Father, move throughout its life today Cultivate a sense of mission in our hearts and minds, we pray

Help us to renew commitment to a way of ministry which interprets

For our culture how your truth can make us free.

2. Make your church a living witness to the power of its Lord;

Send us to the world around us with your Spirit and your Word

To the inner city turmoil, to affluent suburbs, too, to all those who

Need your message send us forth to tell of you.

3. Give to us a social conscience which enables us to see

That all folk are your creation and that they have dignity.

Let us feel, with real compassion, needs of body, mind and soul;

For these needs may we provide them ministry which makes them whole.

4. Challenge us, O God, our Father, to the tasks which must be done

For your church to find fulfillment in the way taught by your Son.

With awareness of our purpose, with commitment to your call,

May we help prepare the time when Christ will reign as Lord of all.

[TUNE: HYFRYDOL]

PRAYER OF ADORATION & THANKSGIVING RESPONSIVE READING Leader: I was ready to be sought out by those who did not ask,

To be found by those who did not seek me.

I said, ‘Here I am, here I am’ to a nation that did not call on my name.

People: God called to him out of the bush, ‘Moses, Moses!’

And he said, ‘Here I am!’.

Leader : Then the Lord called, ‘Samuel!, Samuel!’

And he said, ‘Here I am!’’

People: Then Mary said, ‘Here am I, the servant of the Lord;

Let it be with me according to your word.’

Leader: Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,

‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us’

And I said, ‘Here am I; send me!’

People: Lord, You are I AM before we cry, ‘Here am I!’

People: You call us to Yourself before we call out to You.

Leader: Grant us grace now,

People: to seek as we are sought,

Leader: To call as we are called,

People: and to serve the One who serves us.

ALL: In the life of His Blessed Son, Amen

SONGS OF WORSHIP My Jesus, My Savior, Lord, there is none like You; All of my days I want to praise the wonders of Your mighty love.

My comfort, my shelter, Tower of refuge and strength;

let every breath, all that I am never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing

power and majesty, praise to the King;

mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of Your name.

I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,

forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand,

nothing compares to the promise I have in you.

Blessing and honour, glory and power be unto the Ancient of Days

From every nation, all of creation, bow before the Ancient of Days

Ev’ry tongue in heaven and earth shall declare Your glory,

Ev’ry knee shall bow at Your throne in worship

You will be exalted, O God, and Your Kingdom shall not pass away,

O Ancient of Days (rept.)

Your kingdom shall reign over all the earth

Sing unto the Ancient of Days;

For none can compare to Your matchless worth,

Sing unto the Ancient of Days.

Ev’ry tongue in heaven…………………..Ancient of Days.

TESTIMONY - MISSION MONTH – Deacon Cresseler Hanson

[Brief Period of Silence]

[Sung Prayerfully]

He is here, hallelujah; he is here, Amen

He is here, holy, holy, I will bless His name again.

He is here, listen closely; hear Him calling out my name

He is here, you can touch Him; you will never be the same.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION & INTERCESSION [Response]

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there’s something about that name

Master, Saviour, Jesus! like the fragrance after the rain;

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all heaven and earth proclaim

Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,

but there’s something about that name!

A MESSAGE FROM THE MISSION DIRECTOR – JBUMA

The theme of Mission Month 2016 is, “Living the Sacrificial Life: Witnessing Fervently.” Over the years, the emphasis on mission during September has helped us as a constituency to renew our commitment to God’s Mission in the world. This year’s theme is in keeping with the denomination’s bi-annual theme: “Being God’s People in God’s World: Living the Sacrificial Life”. Let me urge all of us to give our full participation in all the planned activities of the Mission Agency; these include: Bible Study Series (under the theme, “Witnessing Fervently”) in local churches; JBUMA D.V.D Presentation; Christ for Today programme and the various Church Growth Mission 2020 Meetings and Baptisms Island wide. As we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit, the Agency’s prayer is that Christians will be encouraged and challenged as we experience a sense of being commissioned anew. The JBUMA expresses thanks to all those who worked and continue to labour to make sure the activities planned are implemented. We express thanks to the Rev. Gary Johnson for preparing the Bible Study Outline for Mission Month and the Evangelism and Discipleship Committee for implementing the staging of Church Growth Regional Meetings. On behalf of the Mission Agency’s Chairman, the Rev. Johnathan Hemmings and the Coordinator, Miss Danielle Redwood, receive our heartfelt greetings at this time. It is our joy to know that with you our Baptist Community we serve Christ as “Agents of the Great Commission.” Let us pray, participate and promote, “Witnessing Fervently” Learoy Campbell (Rev. Dr. - JBUMA)
