ITINERARYJuly 22 – Depart / Arrive in Fairbanks, AKMeet us this morning at one of our many convenient pick-up points as we make our way to connect to our flight to Fairbanks, Alaska! Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your Local Tour Guide and Driver and transferred to your hotel in downtown Fairbanks with the remainder of the evening to spend at your leisure.

July 23 – FairbanksWelcome to the “Golden Heart City!” Today, enjoy a guided city tour of Fairbanks featuring the Trans-Alaska Pipeline as well as a visit to the North Pole, where everyday is Christmas. Later, cruise the Chena River aboard a stern-wheeler riverboat and experience the thrill of river travel. (B)

July 24 – Denali National Park / Tundra Wilderness TourThis morning we head south for our scenic drive toward Denali National Park. Upon arrival, travel deep into Denali National park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour and search the vast wilderness for bears, moose, caribou and dall sheep. This six to eight-hour journey, including a snack on-board, is narrated allowing for unique insight into animals as well as the flora and fauna of this spectacular region. (B)

July 25 – Wilderness Jetboat Excursion / Alaska RailroadContinue south to the quaint town of Talkeetna, nestled at the base of Mt. Denali. Here, enjoy a Wilderness Jetboat Excursion, taking you into the heart of the wilderness in comfort. Travel twenty miles upriver with your naturalist guide as they share information about the surrounding area. Later, we head toward the Talkeetna Rail Depot where we board a deluxe dome rail car for our scenic ride to Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in downtown Anchorage and enjoy free time this evening. (B)

July 26 – Anchorage / Embark the Norwegian JewelThis morning enjoy a guided city tour of Anchorage featuring Lake Hood, where 190+ float-planes takeoff and land daily, Earthquake Park to learn about the 1964 Earthquake, and the historic downtown area. On our way to Seward, we visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where we’ll have a chance to see Alaska’s wildlife up-close-and-personal. Later this afternoon, say goodbye to your Local Tour Guide and Driver as you arrive at the Seward Cruise Terminal and embark the Norwegian Jewel. Once on-board, spend the rest of your evening exploring your home for the next seven nights! Cruise departs port at 9:00 p.m. (B, D)

July 27 – Cruise Hubbard GlacierGet an up-close view of the gigantic Hubbard Glacier, North America’s largest tidewater glacier. It’s 1,350 square miles of blue ice and one of the most active in Alaska. Spend today also enjoying the many amenities aboard the Norwegian Jewel. (B, L, D)

July 28 – Icy Strait PointVenture “where the north wind doesn’t blow.” Known for this famous saying, Icy Strait Point is the ideal spot for adventurers seeking a new experience. Breathtaking and exciting, Icy Strait Point truly takes you where the wild things are. It’s one of the few places in the world where wildlife outnumbers the human population. (B, L, D)

July 29 – Juneau, AK / Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier CruisingJuneau has been called “Alaska’s peak experience,” certainly due in part to its unparalleled glacier viewing from such places as Tracy Arm Fjord, the Juneau Icefields and Glacier Bay National Park. Choose from one of the optional shore excursions, such as kayaking up one of the area’s many protected waterways, flightseeing, touring historic downtown or try your hand at panning for gold. Also, the majestic Mendenhall Glacier lies only 12 miles outside Juneau, a trek worthwhile. After departing Juneau we set sail for Dawes Glacier! From Stephens Passage, your ship will turn into the glacially carved fjord of Endicott Arm, the southern sister fjord to Tracy. However, Endicott is special. It’s the fjord less traveled. The 31-mile fjord is complete with sheer granite walls, plunging waterfalls, spruce and hemlock tees clinging to steep sides and is the definition of pristine. Keep an eye out for bears, mountain goats and whales. At the head of the fjord is Dawes Glacier. Listen for thunderous cracks from this active, half-mile wide, powerful tidewater glacier. (B, L, D)

July 30 – Skagway, AKIn a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travelers come in search of other riches – to experience yesteryear along Skagway’s charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days. (B, L, D)

July 31 – Ketchikan, AKIt’s Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means “spread wings of the eagle.” Chances are you’ll see one of these magnificent birds perched atop a Sitka tree. Thanks to its abundant rainfall, Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world’s most lush wilderness. (B, L, D)

August 1 – Cruising the Inside PassageToday, enjoy amazing views and wildlife like nowhere else as you sail through the islands of Alaska’s Inside Passage!
