Roaming Broker: This service is provided through a third party with no extra cost for you. If the country you’re visiting is within the Roaming Broker list, you’ll have to do the following:

I. On your menu, select Conectivity or movistar (SIM card image).

II. Choose Roaming and then Roaming 2.

III. Go back to your menu, select Options> Network> Manual and all available networks will display, choose the one you prefer and you’ll have regular service.

NOTE: In case you visit a Direct Roaming Network after visiting a Roaming Broker network, you’ll have to select conectivity or movistar (SIM card image), select Roaming and then Roaming 1 .

Useful information for postpaid users

When you come back to Mexico, you’ll just have to follow the same steps on the menu and choose Roaming 1 so you can reach the movistar Mexico network.

3.- Once you’re connected to any network you’ll receive a welcoming message from movistar, reminding you the Customer Service numbers you can call in case of distress.

NOTE: Japan and Korea are not compatible technologies with some movistar cellphones (CDMA, 3G). If you travel to these countries and the connection fails, we recommend you to rent another cellphone and insert your SIM card so you can get all available services.

• Learn and take note of the international prefix of the countries you are calling to while Roaming. (Mexico’s is 52).

• Remember that the long distance code to call from USA, Puerto Rico and American Virgin Islands is 011. For all other countries is 00, if it doesn’t work, you can dial the symbol + before the number you are calling.

• Save in your movistar memory your usual numbers, with your visited country long distance code and Mexico’s prefix, and this will help you make calls easily.

• While calling a mexican mobile number from USA or Canada, you must dial 011 521 and the ten-digit mobile number. If you are calling to a mexican home line dial 011 521 and the ten-digit number.

• E.g. Dialing from USA to another country: 011 or + / country code / city code / number

Dialing from any country to another country: 00 or + / country code / city code / number

Tips:Useful information for postpaid users

• To call from the rest of the world to a mexican mobile number, dial the long distance code number or + symbol, 521 and the ten-digit mobile number. If you are calling to a mexican home line, dial 00 or + symbol, 52 and the ten-digit number.

• Don’t forget to bring your charger with you and the adapters needed if the country you’re visiting requires them.

To access your Voice Mail from any country, dial +52 551 255 0001 and a recording will ask for your PIN or your 10 digit number. You have to set this service before travel.

2. If on arrival at your destination your movistar phone does not connect automatically to the available network operators, you must search for the connection manually on your phone, you can ask how to do it by calling *611 before your trip.

3. Once the connection is established, you´ll receive a welcoming message reminding you the Customer Service numbers you may call in case of any inconvenience.

Useful information for prepaid users

IMPORTANT: While you are in any country without an agreement for prepaid Roaming, you’ll be able to receive calls and messages. The cost will be $2.00 USD per minute (tax included). Received messages are FREE.

• Learn and take note of the international prefix of the countries you are calling to while Roaming. (Mexico’s is 52).

• While you are in international Roaming, the way you call to movistar prepaid phones, doesn’t change, so you’ll be able to make your calls the same way you do in Mexico.

Word of advice:

• Make sure you have enough credit in your account to call and receive incoming calls from abroad and remember that the promotional bonuses do not apply for Roaming, but will be available when you return to Mexico.

• If you make top ups via internet, do not forget to sign up before you travel. Dial *888.

• If you’re going to top up credit via telephone from abroad, don’t forget to take your top up cards from home, because you can’t buy them outside of Mexico.

Useful information for prepaid users

• Remember, in order to call a cellphone in Mexico from any country with movistar prepaid coverage, you have to dial 044 plus 10 digits or 045 plus 10 digits or 10 digits. With any of this three options your call will be made. To call to a home line in Mexico, dial 01 plus 10 digits or the city code plus ten digits of the desired number.

• To make international calls and calls to the rest of the world, you must dial the symbol + and the country code you want to call, plus the city code and the local number you want to reach.

• Don’t forget your battery charger and adapters needed if the country you’re traveling does not have the same voltage as Mexico (England – Three-pin plug, USA - American, Europe and Rest of World - European)

Customer service and credit check:

You can call Customer Service from the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada at 1888 401 3854 or from other countries with movistar coverage by dialing + 5255 5999 4248.

Check your credit by calling *72536 from your prepaid movistar. The cost will be the same to a call to Mexico, depending on the price of the region where you are (check prepay rates by region).

If you don’t have enough credit to make a phone call, you’ll hear a recorded message informing you that the call can’t be made and you must make a top up.
