Making A Change!

September 14th Saturday 10 am to 1 pm

At Huntingdon and 27th Ave.

Info for a Change: Climate Change The idea of Climate change can be overwhelming- we may feel powerless. But we are not. Nearly 40 percent of our individual contributions to green-house gases comes from what we eat and how we heat and cool our houses. In actual fact, these are things we can make better choices about, saving money and im-proving our health. So - why haven’t we? A change in our habits can seem impossible- unless we look at it step by step. The help you need to do your part is available at this info fair. If you can actually do some-thing to save the earth- why would you choose not to?

Remington Spotlight on

The Community School

Not a business, but deserving of a spotlight. The Commu-nity School on the corner of 30th and Huntingdon Ave was founded in 1982 by Tom Culotta along with residents of the Remington community in Baltimore. This academic and mentoring program has worked with hundreds of stu-dents, helping them to stabilize their lives, advance their education, earn a high school diploma and go on to col-lege. It is a well known part of the Remington community.

It has now been certified by the Maryland State Depart-ment of Education as a Private High School granting it the ability to award Maryland State High School Diplo-mas! This has been a long held dream for many at TCS and will add even greater value to the education that stu-dents receive at The Community School. This is a proud moment for the community!

The school will continue to offer its high quality college preparatory program and personal mentoring, but the stu-dents now will earn credits toward a Maryland High School Diploma rather than having to take the GED exam.
