A PROGRAM FULL OFVISIBILITY OPPORTUNITIESThe 12th Metropolis World Congress provides a varied program with international speakers and a schedule specially arranged to enable delegates and partners to meet, discuss and learn by getting involved in the multiple suggested activities.
Global Challenges: Major Cities in Action Faced with significant challenges, major cities are key stakeholders in local and global issues. In fact, the global challenges connected with international agendas such as climate change, economic and sustainable development, or migration are also local issues that are increasingly calling upon metropolitan leaders and populations.
“Global Challenges: Major Cities in Action” is also the affirmation of the role that large cities play in the international arena. The Congress will enable political decision-makers and a wide range of experts involved at the urban level to take stock of these new issues and especially to identify courses of action, to consult together and to get mobilized, in order to ensure that metropolises are up to dealing with the new challenges and meeting citizens’ expectations for a better quality of life.
SMART CITIESSmart initiatives by the metropolises, impacts, technological and social innovations
MAJOR CITIES AND THE ENVIRONMENT The impact that metropolises have on the environment, actions for reducing the environmental footprint, challenges and circular metropolitan economies
INCLUSION AND LIVING TOGETHER Learning to live together, diversified populations, cultural differences, equality of men and women, access to employment and housing
MOBILITY AND URBAN PLANNINGNew technologies, active mobility, architecture, urban design and social acceptability
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, COLLABORATIVE ECONOMY AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY Economic development issues and strategies, innovation districts, tourism and design
METROPOLITAN LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCEMetropolises in international relationships, the different levels of governance, citizen involvement in decision-making processes, social acceptability and urban diplomacy
We are counting on our partners to enrich this event and spread their expertise and
