Brief History of CHPTC
The CHPTC was started in 1995 at Yangon, Insein Township under the responsibility of Health Ministries Department of Myanmar Union Mission of SDA
For the first year we had no boarding rooms. The batch of 18 trainees had to stay with their friends and relatives nearby.
In 1996, with the help of Japanese ADRA, we were able to build a boarding house and got some teaching materials.
Their Aim is to provide proficiencies for the women who have less access to education and
financial support
In relieving the sickTo help them for temporary relay
To know the symptoms and contact to the nearest health workersTo cooperate with workers in preventive and medical treatment
To work individually and with the health workers for the health improvement of the families and people of the village.
Where do they work after the course?
Through many difficulties, we have been able to conduct the CHPTC for the past 14 years.
There are a total of nearly 600 graduates already. We are very grateful to doctors and nurses who had assisted us throughout
these hard times. Up to the present time these trainees have to support themselves throughout
the course. They have to bear all the expenses by themselves.
After graduation, the trainees work at the following areas.
Mission SchoolsMyanmar Frontier Mission Project
1000 Missionary ProjectMission Clinic
Private Clinic and HospitalIn their respective village as health promoters.
The school has only one class room and one skeleton model for students to learn from.
Special request from Dr. Htaw LayHealth Ministries Department of Myanmar Union Mission of SDA
If any of you are willing to support the CHPTC, here are the things needed:
Teaching models (Heart and Blood Vessels, Oral Cavity, Pelvic Cavity Dummy)
Installing of phone line (2800 US $)
DVD and TV for better teaching (US$ 300)
Cooking utensils (Rice cookers, fork, spoons and plates)
We decided that we will give them nutritious food starting from 2009 school year to promote healthy lifestyle.
In the past, they had to cook for their own food and had limited time for self-study.If you want to sponsor a trainee, it would cost US $ 250 for the whole course that
would cover tuition fees, uniform, boarding and food.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed through generous donation for the successful sustainability of the training. May God bless you always as you serve
Him.
