Process Flow Original problem to resolve Cause & effect analysis Engineering contradiction Contradiction matrix Specific inventive principle 1.2 Benefits or impacts if problem is solved Minimizing costs means lowering charges of electric bills. Saving energy also leads to a greener world by conserving natural resources and also reduces carbon footprint. 1.1 Problem statement Energy usage is becoming expensive and to cut costs is to reduce the usage at home. Many ways are discovered to minimize energy usage but which is the most effective yet money-friendly? Problem description As energy usage becomes more acute and expensive, there are many efforts to reduce its usage cost especially in the home. If you consider a typical house, how would you reduce energy usage if you are cost constrained? PART 1 3. High energy usage Appliances not being switched off High energy consuming products used High electricity charging rate Bad time management Outdated appliances High power appliances Component malfunction Didnt buy an updated version of appliances to perform faster Didnt undergo proper quality check Product too costly To save time Lack of time Unsatisfactory management in production unit Lack training Lack of money Lack of motivation Lack of subsidy by government Lack of funds Corruption CAUSE AND EFFECT ANALYSIS 4. ENGINEERING CONTRADICTION BAD TIME MANAGEMENT Improving Parameter Worsening Parameter #19 Use of energy by moving object #25 Loss of time #22 Loss of energy If we have do better at managing our time in using the appliances, then more energy can be saved by using it lesser then needed but it takes time to obtain optimal time managing skills.
