28TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME OCTOBER 15TH, 2017

CONSECRATION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY ON THIS 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF

OUR LADY’S APPARITIONS IN FATIMA

Dear Parishioners, Terrorism is destroying lives. Gen-der ideology is wreaking havoc. Scandals, unbelief, and division continue to rack the Church. Across the globe and in our own homes, problems abound. Some-times, watching the news or read-ing the headlines becomes an occa-sion for us to throw up our hands with the overwhelming feeling that the world is falling apart.

And yet, Our Lady told us in Fati-ma, “In the end, my Immacu-late Heart will triumph.” That is, Mary’s Heart, so completely given to Jesus, will be victorious over all evil. As we come to the close of this celebratory year of the 100th anniversary of Our La-dy’s apparitions in Fatima, let these words of our Heavenly Mother resound in our ears as the final word from God about what is happening in our times. Our Lady is the guiding star that God gives to us to navigate these difficult and treacherous times. She comes to us as a Moth-er to turn our gaze away from the crumbling walls around us and to fix them on her Son Jesus Christ who never fails and is always in control.

Let us consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This act of consecration is a surrendering of everything to the incomparable care and power of the Queen of Heaven. 0 Virgin Mary, most powerful Mother of Mercy, Queen of Heaven and earth, in accordance with your wish made known at Fatima, I consecrate myself today to your Immac-ulate Heart. To you I entrust all that I have, all that I am. Reign over me, dearest Mother, that I may be yours in pros-perity, in adversity, in joy and in sorrow, in health and in sickness, in life and in death. Most compassionate Heart of Mary, Queen of Virgins, watch over my mind and heart and preserve me from the deluge of impurity which you lamented so sorrowfully at Fatima. I want to be pure like you. I want to atone for the many crimes committed against Jesus and you. I want to call down upon this country and the whole world the peace of God in justice and charity. Mindful of this consecration, I now promise to strive to imi-tate you by the practice of the Christian virtues without re-gard for human respect. I resolve to receive Holy Commun-ion on the first Saturday of every month when possible, and to offer daily five decades of the Rosary, with all my sacrific-es in the spirit of penance and reparation. Amen.

There are problems in the world, in the Church, in our families and in our own lives that simply cannot be resolved by human means, no matter how excellent. “Mother, we cannot do this ourselves. You take care of it. You come and have your triumph here.” Our lady of Fatima… Pray for Us.

Fr. Joseph M. Paradayil, SDB, Pastor

(Mateo 28:20)
