PARKOUR FREERUNNING
Definition A sport or athletic discipline in which
the participant seeks to move quick-
ly and fluidly through an area or from
one location to another, often an ur-
ban locale, by surmounting obsta-
cles such as walls and railings and
leaping across open spaces, as in a
stairwell or between structures.
Freerunning is a form of urban acro-
batics in which participants use their
environment to perform movements.
It incorporates efficient movements
from parkour, adds aesthetic vaults
and acrobatics, such as tricking and
street stunts, creating athletic and
aesthetically pleasing movements.
Practitioners Practitioners of parkour are known
as TRACEURS or TRACEUSES.Practitioners of freerunning are
known as FREERUNNERS.
Difference? Think -- Going from point A to
point B as quickly and as fluidly as
possible.
Think -- Showmanship, style and a
lot of acrobatics and tricking added
to Parkour.

Every once in a while you get the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something very exciting —Think about the first snow boarders, the first skateboarders — We may not be the first, but Freerunning and Parkour are just beginning to take the global stage by storm.
PARKULTURE was founded by a veteran team and academy — Miami Freerunning — and a lot of friends. The goal was to create an international organization dedicated to the discipline at an amateur level — the first one to do so. In the process our goal is to promote the sport, pave the way for future generations and engender international friendship.

The world’s First International Amateur Freerunning and Parkour Games. 25 Teams and 25 Individuals will be qualified on Facebook, then fly to Miami for a three- day Cross Urban Scramble Competition and Festival celebrating international goodwill and their love of the sport.

Take 125 of the best freerunners and tra-ceurs in the world, and bring them together for a 3 day festival in Miami, Florida. This is what the CROSS URBAN SCRAMBLE is all about.
For three days the public and online viewers will be immersed in Freerunning and Par-kour culture. While the rest of the country faces its cold temperature, Miami’s sun-shine and sexiness will radiate on team and individuals competitions as well as a spon-sors’ Parkulture Village with demos, music, food, films, video games, etc.
In addition, each team and contestant will be given a portable camera to keep video diaries of their experience from beginning to end.
This will be the first festival of its kind and give sponsors unprecedented exposure to their key demographic via direct exposure and social media content.

COMPETITIONSOver the three-day Cross Urban Scramble festival, three main competitions
and talent showcases will take place. To be selected for these competitions,
all participants will submit to an online qualifier by entering videos on
PARKULTURE’s Facebook page. Final selection will be based on viewer votes
and the decision of a professional panel of freerunners, traceurs and Bboys.
CROSS URBAN SCRAMBLE TEAM SHOWCASE TOURNAMENT
Format: The team of up to 4 competitors, competes as a group, choreographing a showcase to the sounds of a DJ. A professional panel of judges will critique and rate the performances.
Rules: The team will have to arrive with 2-3 four-minute runs in advance in order to compete. Two rounds of elimination will take place to decide a winner
Judging: The judging will be based on flow, creativity, difficulty of skill, execution, control, and style
Eligibility: Must be of amateur status (definition: competitors cannot derive over 50% of their annual income from freerunning, parkour, gymnastics, dance or any type of for pay performance. Must be over 14 years old. Limit to 25 teams.
PARKULTURE CHALLENGE INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION
Format: Four challenges will be available for the athletes to compete in. A team will select one individual per event. The team with the most wins for the over-all challenge wins The four challenges are as follows: • Bullseye Challenge • Flow Attack • Best Trick • Speed Realm
Rules: Each athlete must complete all four challenges.
Judging: Judges will have different criteria for judging for each challenge. A winner for each challenge will be selected along with an over all PK Challenge Champion with the best overall score.

BREAK FREE BBOY / BGIRL COMPETITION
Break Free is an opportunity to bring disciplines that share many similarities and allow practitio-ners of break-dancing and freerunning to ex-change ideas.
Format: Eight teams (of 4 max) will be invited to compete after an online selection using videos on our PARKULTURE Facebook Page. Teams will face off in pairs.
Rules: Each team will have 5 minutes for their performance.
Judging: Judges will score based on each teams group choreography, creativity, difficulty, formations transitions spac-ing, group execution, synchronization, timing, theme and music and crowd appeal showmanship.

All competitions are slated to take place over 3 days from 11am to 10pm in the CROSS URBAN ARENA. The primary location under negotiation is BAY FRONT PARK in downtown Miami.
The ARENA will be a movie set of a futuristic city street. This will allow sponsors to acquire “real estate” on stage and have the competitors interact directly with their brands.

The PARKULTURE FESTIVAL Village will be a hands-on family friendly area adjacent to the Arena where children of ALL ages will be able to experience the “culture” of parkour and freerunning. At the center of this will be the international village, showcasing each athlete’s country.
Along with staged music and demonstrations, the public will also be able to interact directly and meet the competitors as well as interact with all the sponsors.
In the evening it will also be the venue for outdoor concerts and film screenings for the PARKULTURE FILM FESTIVAL.
We will also offer space to non-sponsor vendors that fit the criteria required for the event. In addition a comic book and video game tent will allow multiple sponsors to share a single location and promote their products.
The Village will also have numerous food venues as well as a section specially designated for Green Vendors. Green and non-profit vendors will be offered a discounted rate.

One of the primary goals of PARKULTURE is to engender goodwill and friendship amongst different people around the world through cultural exchange.
The USA-CHINA PK FRIENDSHIP EXCHANGE is a first step towards bringing American and Chinese freerunners, traceurs and Bboys closer through an exhibition tour and training workshops.
In its first inception, the goal will be to take 10 U.S. based instructors on a 10 day tour of China. The exchange team will visit Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing. In each city they will visit universities, schools and training facilities as well as cultural sites.
A camera and photo crew will document the entire experience and publish a daily blog on the internet.
The process will be repeated with Chinese Instructors who will visit Miami, Washington DC, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

FLITE PROJECTfreerunners | traceurs | BBoys
The freerunning, parkour and bboy community has produced some of the most amazing and cutting edge yet unrecognized visual artists in the world. The FLITE PROJECT is an attempt capture all this talent and translate it into a book.
Based solely on user submissions, the FLITE PROJECT will collect photos from PARKULTURE’s social network members around the world. We will then assemble the collection into a one of a kind 15 x 15 inch hard cover coffee table book.
The book will be launched during Art Basel 2012 in Miami along with a selection of large format photographs and demonstrations by local freerunners and Bboys.
All proceeds from the book will be used to fund a project that will positively impact a community anywhere in the world.
