Eliminate Long Lines in the Parking Office and Reduce Data Enty by StaffThe BOSSCARS Web Interface module is a self-service portal for the campus community. It allows online
access for students, faculty, and staff to purchase parking
permits, register vehicles, retrieve information about
outstanding parking citations, and submit appeals.
The advantage to the Web Interface Module is automated
processes that no longer require a visit to the Parking
Office, and manual processing and entry by staff.
By integrating the Web Interface, customers may utilize
Single Sign On to manage their parking accounts. The
module accounts for the type of user logged in. For
example, a student who logs on has access to permits
available for student parking lots, whereas a faculty
member logging onto the same portal would be able to
select a permit available for faculty parking lots and elect
to use payroll deduction for payment. Unlimited types of
users are allowed.
Depending on the rules of the institution’s Parking
Office, customers who use the Web Interface may apply
online, print temporary permits, and choose a method to
receive their permit (via mail, or in person). Permit fees
can automatically be added to customer accounts in the
Campus Information System, or in conjuction with the
Online Payment Module, allows credit card payments
through a secure payment gateway.

The Online Payments module allows your customers
to pay for permits or citations online. The immediate
benefits are convenient, anytime access for your
customers as well as reduced wait times and
congestion in the parking office for both you and
your customers.
How it WorksThe Online Payments module does not require
your institution to hold a PCI Security Certificate for
BOSSCARS. Secure, external pages collect payments
by integrating the Web Interface module with
popular secure payment processing services. Used
in conjunction with the Web Interface and Extended
User Web Access modules, you are able to collect
credit card payments over the internet from students
and employees, as well as visitors, contractors, or
guest faculty.
Customers log-on to the campus web portal to pay for
permits or outstanding fines. To make a credit card
payment, they are directed away from your institution’s
website to the payment processing service for
completion. When a payment is processed, customers
receive a confirmation and an automatic e-mail receipt
and BOSSCARS will receive a confirmation of payment.
The Online Payments module automatically updates
accounts upon payment, removing any holds placed
on student accounts. It also generates a daily payment
report, providing a synopsis of payments processed
and confirming payments received.

look up vehicle information by license plate or permit
number and have immediate access to scofflaw info as
well as boot/tow status. Directly transition into writing
a citation with the vehicle information populated, take
photos, and print citations with a mobile printer.

Streamline Your Parking Enforcement BOSSMOBILE is designed to fully automate the citation
process. Enforcement Officers gain immediate access to
information on registered vehicles and permit holders,
including permit status (active, lost, stolen, expired, etc.)
and alerts for scofflaw, boot/tow, VIP status, and citation
history. Handwritten tickets are eliminated, reducing
erroneous and duplicate data entry.
In addition to streamlining parking enforcement,
BOSSMOBILE provides a variety of other benefits. Photos
of a violation assist your department with disputed
citations by providing visual proof and minimizing
appeals. Using the handheld device to scan a permit’s
barcode speeds the lookup of information and minimizes
data entry errors. BOSSMOBILE also tracks “chalk time”,
allowing for quick and easy identification of vehicles
over the limit.
Tickets are either automatically uploaded as they’re
written in the field (via wireless network or cellular data
connectivity) or at the end of a ticket writer’s shift when
the device is plugged in and “synced” with the system. As
citations are added into BOSSCARS, they get associated
with the customer’s account and updated in the campus
information system if desired.
BOSSMOBILE can be used with a wide variety of handheld
devices, including Microsoft Windows Mobile computers
or Apple iOS devices. Ruggedness, smartphone, tablet,
overall cost, or other features - we have options for
everyone.
One of the most popular devices for handheld
ticketing is the CASIO IT-9000, which is a ruggedized,
all-in-one handheld computer with a built-in printer,
built-in camera, a touch panel that provides excellent
visibility indoors and outdoors, a barcode reader,
backlit keyboard, wireless capability and much more.
BOSSMOBILE is in final phase of development as a
mobile app for Apple iOS-based devices.

BOSSCARS can run on an existing University server currently hosting the Banner® by Ellucian & Oracle’s PeopleSoft system, no separate server is necessary. BOSS recommends using a new tablespace on the existing Oracle database for the BOSS tables and other objects. BOSSCARS interacts with certain Banner or PeopleSoft objects. The typical database activity for BOSS is minimal and does not require significant disk or CPU resources.
If purchasing both BOSSCARS and BOSSCOPS, they can exist on the same physical or virtual server, or they may be configured separately. We recommend installing them on the same database and middleware servers.
The Parking or Public Safety Office will need Windows or Apple based PCs that run Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or other browser supported by Oracle.
If you do not have a current configuration of Oracle, the minimum requirement for running the BOSS Software suite is a server with:
• Oracle Database 12c, 11g or 10g
• Oracle Fusion Middleware Forms and Reports 11g (R1 or R2)
• Oracle Forms WebUtil
• Disk Space: 2GB Minimum, 20GB Recommended. Usage varies based on campus size and transaction volume.
• Operating System: Any OS supported by Oracle.
• Virtualization: Any technology supported by Oracle.
If you’ve licensed the BOSSCARS Web Interface, The Web Interface should be added to the Student Self-Service web application. The BOSSCARS Web Interface is a PL/SQL package that resides in the database.
Online Payments Module with TouchNet requires v. 11.2.3 or newer of Oracle Database.
iEnforce Mobile App requires Apple iPhone or iPad running iOS 8.0 or newer with cellular data plan, Zebra iMZ320 mobile printer, BOSSCARS 7.0 or newer with Smartphone Ticketing web service installed.
Upgrades will be made available via electronic file transfer. As long as the Software Support Agreement, BOSSCare, remains in effect, all upgrades will be provided at no additional cost.
