FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME: Today the Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary time. The Church invites us to reflect on the call of the Prophet. The prophet hears what God proclaims and is called to speak in the name of God. The twelve hear the message of Jesus and are sent forth to preach the good news. In Jesus we have been chosen to be full of love. GIFT SHOP: This is to encourage parishioners to patronize our parish gift shop which is now operating in the left room immediately one enters the convent from the rectory building. There you can find nice rosaries, bibles, spiritual books and more beautiful items. All are welcome. NEW LAY MEMBERS BOARD OF TRUSTEES: We hereby wish to thank Mr. David West and Bienvenida Gil De Nunez for willingly accepting to serve as Lay Board of Trustees of our Parish for 2021-2021 Fiscal Year. Welcome and God bless you.

CONCERT SUNDAY JULY 18: We hereby wish to invite parishioners of St. Angela Merici Church and friends to a CONCERT “GOING BACK HOME” “VAMOS A LA CASA” which is scheduled to take place on Sunday on July 18, 2021 starting from 1:00pm. Wilfredo Ortiz and Junior Arias will animate the event with Christian songs while MILTON LOPEZ will preach. We shall conclude with a Benediction. All are welcome.

BERNICE ROUSE: With sorry we mourn the death of MS. Bernice Rouse, which took place on Wednesday July 7, 2021 at her residence. We join her immediate family and the parish community to mourn her loss. Her wake is scheduled to take place on Monday July 12, 2021 starting from 3:00pm till 6:00 pm at St. Angela Merici Church. Her funeral Mass will take place

on Tuesday July 13, 2021 at 10:00 am same place. May the soul of Bernice rest in peace. Amen. Please ensure you wear your face mask.

FR. NESTORIO AGIREMBABAZI FOR VACATION: Fr. Nestorio will be travelling to his home country for a vacation starting Sunday August 1 until mid-September 2021. While away, Fr Godfrey Amobi will cover for Fr. Nestorio until he returns. Kindly accompany Father as he travels to and fro his vacation. Thank you very much.

In so doing, we ensure we do not fall into the temptation of having to borrow to keep doors of our church open. YEAR OF ST. JOSEPH: With the Apostolic Letter Patris corde (“With a Father’s Heart”), Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of St. Joseph as patron of universal Church. To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a “Year of St. Joseph” from December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021. Every Wednesday during 1:00pm bilingual Mass we shall be celebrating Mass in honor of St. Joseph. Also I wish to encourage the faithful of St. Angela Merici to say prayers in honor of St. Joseph for his is traditionally called a Patron who intercedes for those in material needs. St. Joseph pray for us.

PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH:

Hail Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God entrusted His Only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you , Christ became man. Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father. Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage, and defend us from every evil. Amen.

REGISTRATION IN OUR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION/CCD PROGRAM FOR SEPTEMBER 2021: This is to inform parents and guardians with six year old children in need of baptism, those who would like to prepare themselves for First Holy Communion and Confirmation to please come to the office and meet Sr. Maria Pagan, Program Director to register. Registration is in person. Time: Tuesday – Friday 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm. Saturday 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

PARISH MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION: This is to invite all those parishioners who belong to St. Angela Merici and would like to register to please do by filling membership form. There are rights and duties that come along with membership. For example, you are to receive a letter of Reference to have your child in a Catholic School, obtain recommendation for immigration purposes, bury your relative at a Catholic Cemetery etc.

PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL: St. Michael the Archangel defends us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly hosts, by the Devine power of God, cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

DÉCIMOQUINTO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO: Hoy decimoquinto domingo del tiempo ordinario. La Iglesia nos invita a reflexionar sobre la llamada del Profeta. El profeta escucha lo que Dios proclama y es llamado a hablar en el nombre de Dios. Los doce escuchan el mensaje de Jesús y son enviados a predicar las buenas nuevas. En Jesús hemos sido elegidos para estar llenos de amor.

CONCIERTO DOMINGO 18 DE JULIO ,2021: Por lo tanto, deseamos invitar a los feligreses de la iglesia de San Ángela Merici a los amigos a un concierto "Volver a casa" "Vamos A La Casa" que está programado para tener lugar el domingo el 18 de julio de 2021 a partir de 1: 00pm. PADRE NESTORIO AGIREMBABAZI DE VACACIONES: P. Nestorio viajará a su país de origen para unas vacaciones a partir del domingo 1 de agosto hasta mediados de septiembre de 2021. Durante su ausencia, el padre Godfrey Amobi cubrirá al padre. Nestorio hasta que regrese. Sírvase acompañar al padre en sus viajes de ida y vuelta durante sus vacaciones. Muchas gracias.

SORTEO ANUAL DE NAVIDAD 2021: Cada año, nuestra parroquia organiza eventos de recaudación de fondos, uno de los cuales es la rifa de Navidad. Al hacerlo, nos aseguramos de no caer en la tentación de tener que pedir prestado para mantener abiertas las puertas de nuestra iglesia. AÑO DE SAN JOSÉ: Con la Carta Apostólica Patris corde (“Con un corazón de padre”), el Papa Francisco recuerda el 150 aniversario de la declaración de San José como patrón de la Iglesia universal. Para conmemorar la ocasión, el Santo Padre ha proclamado un “Año de San José” del 8 de diciembre de 2020 al 8 de diciembre de 2021. Todos los miércoles durante la Misa bilingüe de la 1:00 pm celebraremos la Misa en honor a San José. También deseo animar a los fieles de Santa Ángela Merici a rezar oraciones en honor a San José porque tradicionalmente se le llama Patrono que intercede por los que tienen necesidades materiales. San José, ruega por nosotros.

Reflexión Al encargar a los Apóstoles en el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús

les da a ellos, y a nosotros, un adelanto de la misión de Su

Iglesia después de la Resurrección.

Sus instrucciones a los Doce se hacen eco de las de Dios a

las doce tribus de Israel en la víspera de su éxodo de Egipto.

Los israelitas también fueron enviados sin pan y con un

solo juego de ropa, con sandalias y con un bastón. Como los

israelitas, los apóstoles deben confiar únicamente en la

providencia de Dios y Su gracia.

Quizás, también, Marcos quiere que veamos la misión de

los Apóstoles, la misión de la Iglesia, como la de liderar un

nuevo éxodo: liberar a las personas de su exilio de Dios y

llevarlas a la tierra prometida, el reino de los cielos.

Como Amós en la Primera Lectura de hoy, los Apóstoles no

son "profesionales" que se ganan el pan profetizando. Como

Amós, son simplemente hombres convocados de sus

trabajos ordinarios y enviados por Dios para ser pastores de

sus hermanos y hermanas.

Nuevamente esta semana, escuchamos el tema del rechazo:

Amós lo experimenta, y Jesús advierte a los Apóstoles que

algunos no los recibirán ni los escucharán. La Iglesia no

está llamada necesariamente a tener éxito, sino solo a ser

fiel al mandato de Dios.

Con la autoridad y el poder que le dio Jesús, la Iglesia

proclama la paz y la salvación de Dios a los que creen en

Él, como cantamos en el Salmo de hoy.

Esta palabra de verdad, este Evangelio de salvación, se

dirige a cada uno de nosotros, personalmente, como lo

proclama Pablo en la epístola de hoy. En el misterio de la

voluntad de Dios, hemos sido elegidos desde antes de la

fundación del mundo, para ser sus hijos e hijas, para vivir

para la alabanza de su gloria.

Entonces, demos gracias por la Iglesia de hoy y por las

bendiciones espirituales que nos ha otorgado. Tomemos la

determinación de promover la misión de la Iglesia: ayudar a

otros a escuchar el llamado al arrepentimiento y dar la

bienvenida a Cristo en sus vidas.

In commissioning the Apostles in today’s Gospel, Jesus

gives them, and us, a preview of His Church’s mission

after the Resurrection.

His instructions to the Twelve echo those of God to the

twelve tribes of Israel on the eve of their exodus from

Egypt. The Israelites likewise were sent out with no

bread and only one set of clothes, wearing sandals and

carrying a staff. Like the Israelites, the Apostles are to

rely solely on the providence of God and His grace.

Perhaps, also, Mark wants us to see the Apostles’

mission, the mission of the Church, as that of leading a

new exodus—delivering people from their exile from

God and bringing them to the promised land, the

kingdom of heaven.

Like Amos in today’s First Reading, the Apostles are not

“professionals” who earn their bread by prophesying.

Like Amos, they are simply men summoned from their

ordinary jobs and sent by God to be shepherds of their

brothers and sisters.

Again this week, we hear the theme of rejection: Amos

experiences it, and Jesus warns the Apostles that some

will not welcome or listen to them. The Church is called

not necessarily to be successful but only to be faithful to

God’s command.

With authority and power given to her by Jesus, the

Church proclaims God’s peace and salvation to those

who believe in Him, as we sing in today’s Psalm.

This word of truth, this Gospel of salvation, is addressed

to each of us, personally, as Paul proclaims in today’s

Epistle. In the mystery of God’s will, we have been

chosen from before the foundation of the world—to be

His sons and daughters, to live for the praise of His

glory.

Let us, then, give thanks for the Church today, and for

the spiritual blessings He has bestowed upon us. Let us

resolve to further the Church’s mission—to help others

hear the call to repentance and welcome Christ into their

lives.
