The memorial altar, a metal cross made from the remains of a World War 11 wrecked Halifax bomber, was dedicated, in a service held on 21 April 2002, to the 979 members of 78 Bomber Squadron who died on missions from Breighton Airfield, in the parish of Bubwith, during World War IL The file includes newspaper cuttings, a press release, the petition lodged with the Diocesan Registry on 10 Dec 2001, the faculty application (including a drawing) dated 28 Ian 2002, draft and final orders of service, and related correspondence.
