PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our Family Promise week begins today and runs through next Sunday morning. Now that Good Sam has hosted a couple of Family Promise weeks, we’re getting the hang of it! Please keep our guests and those who will be working to make their stay comfortable and restful in your prayers.
Summer Story Time will continues this coming Wednesday, June 19 at 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM. Children will gather in the children’s Chapel downstairs and parents will gather in the church library.
Vacation Bible School is set for Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12, 9-noon of Mon.-Thurs. and 9-11 am on Fri. As in past years, Peace Lutheran Church will partner with us to create a fun and exciting time for our little ones. The theme of VBS this year is “Cruising the Holy Land”. Invite your friends, grandchildren, neighbors – the community is welcome! We’ll need lots of adults and junior helpers; let Ann Backus know if you can help during VBS week. Registration forms are available in Henslee Hall and online.
Today is Father’s Day! Thanks to everyone for participating in Ugly Tie Father’s Day. Please join us for a Cookie Sunday Reception after each service to honor fathers and all men who have made a difference in our lives.
On Sunday, June 30, Good Samaritan will observe Independence Day – the 4th of July. To celebrate, we’ve designated that day as Red, White & Blue Jeans Sunday. Don your favorite blue jeans and throw on some red and white as we give thanks during services on June 30.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 14 – Good Samaritan Sunday. The story of The Good Samaritan shows up in our lectionary only once every three years. Join us that day for a special service and a picnic following the late service More info to come.

The Weekly Cash from the Plate Offering
The cash plate this week will go Harmony Family Center.
Over the past 20 years, Harmony Family Center has helped children they serve live their best lives. Today their team of experts, innovative programs, and evidence-based solutions uniquely position them to serve children and families experiencing the challenges, stressors, and trauma of modern life ranging from the most common to the most complex. The diverse array of programs highlights Harmony’s commitment to excellence, a collaborative spirit, their passion for knowledge and focus on family. Beginning in 2019, Good Sam began hosting Harmony’s monthly FUSE groups, support groups for foster or adoptive families. They are also hosting several adoption/guardianship preparation classes, a requirement by the state for anyone who is permanently caring for a child. Good Sam’s Youth Ministry, Sinead Doherty works at Harmony as a Family Therapist.
Last week’s offering of $927 has been designated to go to Cherokee Health Systems. Thank you for your generosity!
