• There is a reason Paris is one of the most popular cities among travellers. Known as the “City of Light” or the“City of Love,” the streets of Paris overflow with culture, art, beauty, and history. Whether searching out Monet’s Water Lilies at Musée de l’Orangerie, climbing the many steps of Sacré-Cœur, standing before the Eiffel Tower in awe, or searching out the best crepes along the Seine, Paris is a city that captures the hearts of millions every year.

• In 1850, 30% of the population in Amsterdam lived off begging.

• The water in the Amsterdam canals is so clean that Artis Zoo gives its elephants drinking water straightfrom the Amsterdam canals.

• Dancing was forbidden in Amsterdam in the beginning of the 20th century.

• In Amsterdam, people on low income can take their pet to the vet for free once a year.

• Amsterdam is the capital of The Netherlands, but the government of The Netherlands is not seated in Amsterdam, but in The Hague.

• All over Amsterdam there arehidden water taps under theground. They were installed in fear of a big disaster to ensure thatthere will always be drinking water.
