invaluable exploration of the paradigm shift in 21st century digital learning now underway at OIS!

=================================GENERAL INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the very first OIS Parents’ ICT Workshop!

Infusing technology into the primary grades through a 1:1 iPad implementation, like other examples

of large-scale school change, is a complex system requiring attention to several areas of knowledge

simultaneously, such as: Leadership & Professional Development, Data & Research, Technical Project

Management, and Curriculum, Pedagogy, & Assessment

This Parents' ICT Workshop is designed with such a complex system in mind. It will cater to the needs of

Parents by focusing primarily on answering the question: “What happens in the classroom and at home?”

Thus, we will take a look at Curriculum, Pedagogy, & Assessment from various perspectives:

How can iPads have a positive impact on the ways...

● teachers teach?

● students learn?

● parents support their children?

We will address these questions, and hopefully raise many more, during this exciting workshop!

第1回OIS父母対象ICT使用についてのワークショップ（ご案内）

小学生一人1台のiPadを与えることによって使用技術導入を図ります。他の分野において学校の大規模

変革をもたらすのと同様に、知識のさまざまな領域に同時に注意をむける必要がり複雑なシステムです。

たとえば、統率と専門家養成、データと研究、技術企画経営と履修課程、教授法と評価方法などがそれ

に当たります。

父母ワークショップは、このように複雑なシステムを念頭に置いて企画されています。お子様の学んで

いる「教室や家庭でどういうことが起こるのか」という質問に焦点を当ててご父母の知りたいこと（必

要としていること）にお応えします。

そういうわけで、いろいろな視点から履修課程、教授法、評価方法などを検討していきます。

iPad使用は、次の３者にどのようなプラス効果をもたらすか。

● 教師のしごと

● 生徒の学習● お子様に対するご父母の支援

このような質問や問題にお応えします。このワークショップの中でその他のことについても触れていき

ますのでお楽しみください。

"Eaglet 2 Classroom"

Location: E2 Classroom (3rd Floor)

The Eaglet 2 section of the Parents’ ICT Workshop will be an observation of current and upcoming

practices.

Parents will witness the iPad being used by students during a progressive educational activity.

The iPad is a classroom tool that will assist students in receiving individualized, self-paced learning.

The iPad affords teachers a better understanding of “metacognition” and gives them valuable insight into

the student’s thinking process.

このワークショップでは現在とこれから先の学習活動についての観察をいたします。

ご父母は、進歩的な教育活動の中で生徒達が使用しているiPadを目の当たりにするでしょう。

iPadは、生徒達が個別的に教育を受け、自分のペースでできる学習を受け取るのを支援する

教育ツールです。iPadは、教師に「認識するための認識」についてのよりよい理解を与えて、



生徒の思考過程に対する価値のある洞察力を与えます。

"G7 Life-Tech Class"

Leader: Brandon Porterfield

Location: Grade 3/4 Classroom (3rd Floor)

In the Grade 7 section of the Parents’ ICT Workshop, parents will assume the role of students in my “Life-

Tech” middle school class. They will experience an average day in my class, using the iPad to create,

collaborate, and display the work that is assigned to them. (Students in Life-Tech are currently designing

and building a their own model towns, using the iPad to assist them during this multi-faceted process.)

"The Living Room"

Welcome to the “Living Room” section of the Parents' ICT Workshop.

This session is a demonstration of an example of what you and your child will be doing when your child

brings their iPad home.

iPads are a great tool for teaching and learning.



We believe that through using the iPad we can create a learning environment and experience that brings

the classroom and home together.

The main idea we would like to demonstrate in this session is to show how the iPad can be used to

develop a positive English language a environment in the home, even if the main language spoken at

home is not English.

The activities in this section of the workshop will show you how you can using an iPad to develop your

own language skills, which can then support your child’s language skills.

“リビングルーム”

ICTワークショップの「リビングルーム」コーナーへようこそ。このセッションは、あなたの子供が

iPadを家に持ってきた時、自宅でiPadをお子さんとあなたがどのように使えばいいかを示す例のデモン

ストレーションです。

iPadは教育と学習のための素晴らしいツール（手段）です。 iPadを使用することによって学校の教室と

家庭をつなぐ学習環境と経験を作りだすことができると信じています。

このセッションで説明したいと思う主なアイデアは、iPadを使用して自宅で話されている、主な言語が

英語ではない場合でも、自宅で肯定的な英語の言語環境を開発する方法を示すことです。

このワークショップの活動では、iPadを使って自分の言語技能を発展させることによって、あなたの子

さんをサポートするために行われます。
