What is All-State? The All-State Choruses are highly selective groups of choral students from Florida’s junior high, middle, and senior high schools (7 th-12th grade) who are brought together for the purposes of rehearsing and performing selected music with guest conductors.

What do I study? Theory, ear-training, sight-reading and the choir music What are the audition procedures?

◦ September 9: MAC students will be nominated to audition◦ September 19: First audition theory/ear-training written exam & sight-reading

All students will be recorded individually singing vocalises, one announced excerpt and two unannounced excerpts. For the 2015 cycle, high school students who do not qualify for the Concert Choir after the first two tests, but do qualify for the Men’s or Women’s Chorus will use ONLY the SSAA/TTBB music. A separate announced excerpt will be announced for these students when the Concert Choir excerpt is announced. For more information, check the All-State Documents page.

Approval: All school volunteers and parents coming into contact with students do so with the approval of the executive director. The executive director reserves the right to limit or deny any individual whose behavior is deemed questionable or inappropriate from participating as a school volunteer at his sole discretion.

Role: Parent volunteers must always remember to act in a supportive role and never in a manner that undermines teachers’ or administrators’ abilities to provide instruction or a safe learning environment for all students.
