cpcfremontyouth cpcyouth @CPCFremontYouth www.cpcfremont.org/youth Dear Parent, As this next school year is upon us, we want to thank you for allowing us to get to know your child and love them for who they are. You have some amazing children. Over the last couple of years we have seen a steady growth in the quantity and quality of the relationships that are formed in our programs. With this new season is upon us, we are pressing on with our ministry to continue to see growth in the lives of your kids. We want to highlight some aspects of our ministry this year that we have identified as critical aspects of growth that you might want to know about. This year we have set two main goals: a. Develop our leadership teams b. Incorporate parents and families into every aspect of our programs. LEADERSHIP We are always looking for adults who want to take an active role in helping a child grow in their identity in Christ. Research has shown that one of the critical features of a well-grounded child is having at least 5 adults that are pouring into their lives consistently. Most kids are lucky to have one or two. We are at a critical point in our ministry where we can go forwards or backwards and taking our ministry to the next step is getting adults helping out in this capacity at our gatherings and small groups. If you feel called to this role this year, please contact us, and we can talk more about where we can plug you in. PARENTS/FAMILIES No child that comes to our programs lives in a vacuum. We know that we only see them for about 2-4 hours a week and you see them all the time. Most of their life happens outside of the church and in your home. We feel we are called as a church to serve you and your family to help you with your needs as you raise your child. In doing this, I want to offer some avenues of communication we would like to see develop over the next couple of years: 1.Parent Feedback 2.Weekly Parent Newsletter 3.Parenting Seminars 4.Parent Support Group August 2011

Dear Parent,

As this next school year is upon us, we want to thank you for allowing us to get to know your child and love them for who they are.

This year we have set two main goals:a. Develop our leadership teamsb. Incorporate parents and families into every aspect of our programs.

LEADERSHIPWe are always looking for adults who want to take an active role in helping a child grow in their identity in Christ.

PARENTS/FAMILIESNo child that comes to our programs lives in a vacuum. We know that we only see them for about 2-4 hours a week and you see them all the time. Most of their life happens outside of the church and in your home. We feel we are called as a church to serve you and your family to help you with your needs as you raise your child. In doing this, I want to offer some avenues of communication we would like to see develop over the next couple of years:

1.Parent Feedback2.Weekly Parent Newsletter3.Parenting Seminars4.Parent Support Group

August 2011

Parent Feedback We want to know how we can help you. We want to hear your ideas, concerns, passions, excitements, prayers, and fears about what we are doing in our programs and ultimately our ministries, and anything you might want to share with us about what is going on in your lives

We have set up a feedback form on our website with some basic questions and we would for you to answer. In addition to that, we have also set up a general comment section that you can offer feedback, share a prayer request, or just say hi.

Please go to www.cpcfremont.com/parentfeedback and help us out. The feedback form will always be available for continual use.

Weekly Parent Newsletters We want to keep you in the loop of everything we are doing, from content, to activities, to ways to get involved and help out. But more importantly, we would love to see the conversations we have at our gatherings about faith and life continue in your own home.

So starting in September we will send out a weekly parent newsletter to your email that will share with you the topics we are discussing and offer some questions you can ask your child to start conversations. We will also include announcements and other fun things.

If you would like to receive this newsletter sign up for it at www.cpcfremont.org/youth/parents.

Parenting Seminars It is our goal to provide 4 seminars a year for your benefit. Each one will highlight an issue that you, as parents, might be dealing with. Each one will offer free childcare and a free meal. We will bring in guest speakers, have a panel of other parents, and a time to develop relationships with other parents. Our first seminar of the year is Oct 23 @ 4pm on bullying. For more info check out www.cpcfremont.org/parentsurvival.

Parent Support Group A few years ago we had a parent support group that met weekly and it was very beneficial for many parents. We would love to see one or two more happen, but need parents who feel called to lead one. If you feel this is something you can do please contact us, and we will take the necessary steps in getting this set up.
