Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the Residential Phase of Class 2014-2, which formally begins on Tuesday, April 1,
2014. The attachments contain a list of events which your Cadet will participate in duringResidency. We are providing as much current information as possible to assist you with
planning your time and travel. If you have any further questions, please contact the staff
members listed below:

Platoon numbers will be assigned during in-processing. Parents, immediate family members,and mentors may also send letters via email [email protected]. All other individuals
wishing to send letters of support must use traditional snail mail. Please address the subject line
as follows: Cadet (Last Name, First Name), Platoon #. Emails will be printed by the RPM staff
and given to Cadets, but theywill not have access to computers to email you back. This issimply an alternative means of communicating with your cadet that weve found to be
successful. Additionally, Skype calls may be coordinated through the Platoon Leader in theCadre Section between cadets and their parents/guardians residing outside of the local area as we
move closer to visitation.

Acclimation Graduation and Visitation : Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm -
Talkeetna Theater Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER). Parents/guardians and Mentorsare welcome. There will be a visitation with your cadet immediately following the Acclimation
graduation ceremony. Female Cadets will have their visitation on Camp Carroll at Shelden Hall
(maps will be provided). Access to the installation for this event requires us to collect the
following information in advance for everyone ages 16 and older:
(1) First Name, Middle Initial, and Last Name;

(2) Last four of your Social Security Account Number (SSAN); and(3) Drivers license number with state,
(4) Additionally, the driver must possess a valid vehicle registration, and proof of
insurance.
Additional Important Notes:
(1) All occupants 16 years of age and older must show a government issued picture ID.
(2) Everyone requesting access to the military installation is subject to the stringent basesecurity requirements. Please plan on arriving early to avoid probable delays at the gate due to a
large number of first-time visitors.
Mentor Matching EventsThis event is a potluck (share-a-dish) for Cadets, Mentors and the families of both Mentors and
Cadets. Please bring your Cadets favorite main dish with enough to feed 10 people. It will takeplace at Shelden Hall, our dining facility on campus, Bldg 60720, from 12:30 pm 4:00 pm. We
will provide a map to the Armory closer to the date of the event. This is an opportunity for
everyone to meet each other and have fun.

Family VisitationsFamily visitations are held at the Shelden Hall Dining Facility (DFAC) on Camp Carroll for 1

Platoon and the National Guard Armory on JBER for 2nd

Platoons, on scheduled Sundaysfrom 2:00pm 4:30pm, beginning May 11, 2014. Visitation is restricted to the cadets
immediate family members and/or mentor only. There is no food or drink allowed during
visitation and absolutely no boyfriends or girlfriends! Any questions may be directed to yourCadets Platoon Leader whose contact information is listed above.

Summer Pass- July 4 (after parade) through July 9 @ 6pm
Local Cadets can be picked up by parents beginning after the 4thof July parade. More detailswill be sent out as we get closer to the date. Cadets who are being flown out of town have the
option of flying out the evening before, if needed, due to airline scheduling restrictions. Please
coordinate travel itineraries with your Cadets Platoon Leader. All Cadets will need to bechecked back in by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Transportation and associated costs is
the responsibility of the parents/guardians. If needed, we can provide transportation to the
airport in Anchorage. Please fax all itineraries to AMYA Deputy Commandant at 907-384-6400.

Residential Transition Briefing for Parents, Guardians and Mentors:An end-of-class out-brief will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 7:00 pm 8:00 pm, atthe Shelden Hall Dining Facility.
CLASS 2014-1 GRADUATION: Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Denaina Center, TikahtnuBallroom, in downtown Anchorage, beginning at 10 am.
All dates, places and times are subject to change. Access to Fort Richardson may be
restricted depending upon current world affairs.
