DATES TO REMEMBER:  Grade 8 Transion Meeng:  Wednesday, March 2nd from 5:30—7:00pm in the Lile Theater   MAP Tesng - Spring Tesng Window:  Monday, February 29th - Friday, March 11th   Course Registraon:  Week of March 7—11th  Student-Led Conferences:  Wednesday, March 16th from 12:30 to 5:00pm G8 to G9 Parent Transion Meeng: The G9 counselors, Steve Ayling and Crystal Cappuccio, will be hosng a Grade 8 to Grade 9 transion meeng on Wednesday, March 2nd from 5.30 - 6.30pm in the Lile Theater. The purpose of this event is to share key informaon regarding the transion to high school and to a ord parents an opportunity to ask any quesons they may have about this key me in their child’s life. The parent session will cover common transion issues, diploma opons at ISM, graduaon credits and the course selecon pro- cess. Please mark this date in your calendars, if you haven't already done so !  G8 Yearbook Dedicaon: A focal part of the Middle School Yearbook (Salinlahi) is the G8 dedicao n page. During selected Advisory sessions, the G8 students have been given the opportunity to work on their dedicaons. They have been given guidance and support as well as exemplars wrien by previous s tudents. The individual dedicaons are tradionally accompanied by a baby photo as well as this year’s yearbook photo. We are aware that some stu- dents may leave it to the last minute to ask for a baby photo and we therefore want to make sure all parents are in the communicaon loop. The deadline students have been given for subming the nal version of their dedicaon and a baby photo is Friday, March 4th. Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Tesng:  The MAP tesng window starts on Monday and will run for a two week period of me. The MAP tests are computerized and are adapve in nature . This means that ques ons get harder or easier depending on whether a child responds correctly or incorrectly. These tests are unmed and take place during regular scheduled class me. Students will be taking 3 dierent MAP tests - Reading (English class), Language Usage (Social Studies class) and Mathemacs (Math class). ISM uses the data from these assessments to guide the next instruconal steps and to monitor curriculum strengths and a reas of improvement. NEED TO KNOW:

Course Registraon for Next School Year:  

March is course registraon month! This is a busy me with lots of informaon being shared with students and parents

about course oerings for the coming academic year. There are two key events that are taking place soon and we want

to make sure all parents are in the loop!

This Week - Grade Level Assemblies: 

During Advisory on Wednesday, March 2nd all students will aend a grade level assembly where we will share

the course oerings and opons for the coming school year. Following these assemblies, the presentaons to

students will be made available on the MS Blogs so parents and students can view them together. Please have

conversaons with your child so they can make an informed decision when asked to register online. 

Next Week - Online Registraon: 

Students in Grades 5 - 8 will register for their elecve choices during the week March 7-11th. This will be done

online during the school day. Parents will receive a conrmaon email once your child has registered. 

Student-Led Conferences (SLC):

 The SLCs are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 16th from 12:30 - 5:00 p.m. Typically we divide this block of

me into two separate sessions. The rst session is from 12:30 - 2:30p.m. and is for students whose surnames begin

with A- K. The second session is from 3:00 - 5:00p.m. and is for students whose surnames begin with L - Z. More infor-

maon about this event will be sent out next week, but we wanted to give you a courtesy head -sup about how the me

is divided up so you can book me o work in advance.

pated in the AMIS music fes-

vals in Yangon, Myanmar. Six

choir students and two band

students joined over 150 music

students from 15 internaonal

schools for a weekend of re-hearsing with guest conductors,

culminang in a gala concert at

the Naonal Theater of Yangon!

Congratulaons to all ISM gymnasts who competed in the

Philippine Cup meet last weekend. Results from the Philip-

pine Cup will be posted to ATAC blog gymnascs page as

soon as they are received from the meet organizers.  

S3 pracce schedule is posted on noce boards and on

ATAC blog schedules page. 

Remember this week is a short week with no school for

students on Thurs and Friday. 

ATAC S3 sports for MS are Badminton, Track&Field, Mixed

Touch and Co-ed Soball. For HS S3 sports are Golf,

Track&Field, Soball and Badminton.

Please note the pracce mes for ATAC programs for SY 15-

16 are as follows: ATAC all year round teams- 3:15-4:30. See

schedule for our All year round teams program here… 

All HS seasonal teams pracce from 3:05- 4:50pm each day.

MS seasonal teams pracce 3:15-4:45pm. In order to clear

the campus prior to 5pm all aer school programs will con-

clude by 4:50pm or earlier. The last bus is 4:55pm this is

due to the ever increasing trac concerns in our area.

up to date informaon on where/when and who our Bear-

cat teams will be playing throughout the school year. Ac-

cess to the game schedule is now via the ISM parent portal
