Guidelines for Microbiolooical Parameters

The MAC tor total coliforms and Escherichia coli, in public, semi-public and private drinking water systems is nonedetectable per 100 mL. No MAC is specified fot heterotrophic plate count (HPC) bacteria. However, increasesin HPC concentrations above baseline levels are considered undesirable.
