Paramecium

Paramecium Key: The Paramecium features two nucleuses which are the Macronucleus and the Micronucleus. The macronucleus is responsible for normal cell function and keeping the DNA. The micronucleus is responsible for cell division and is the small grain of rice next to the almond. The Anal Pore disposes of waste on a Paramecium. The food vacuoles store food for the Paramecium to use later if needed. The cell mouth is an opening for food to come into the cell and is a lot like our mouths. The gullet is used to form food vacuoles. See definition above for vacuole. Ribosomes build proteins for later use to build new organelles. The Contractile Vacuole contracts and forces extra water out of the cell. The Cilia are hair like appendages that help the paramecium move and move food into itself. Gullet Cell Mouth Food Vacuole

Paramecium Key:

The Paramecium features two nucleuses which are the Macronucleus and the Micronucleus.
