Would you like to visit this country?~Yes, I would like to visit this country because I could visit Rio Paraguay which is a city of many contrasts. I could also go see Presidential Palace in ASUNCIÓN and the government palace.~

*Before the Europeans, Paraguay was inhabited by a native tribe called Guarani.

*The legal system is based on Roman law, Argentine codes, and French codes.

*Paraguay derives its name from an eponymous river, which divides the country into two regions, Eastern Paraguay (or Paranena region) and Western Paraguay (also called Chaco). Majority of the country’s population lives in the east, and only 2-3% of the population lives in the west.

*Currency in Paraguay is Guarani.

*Paraguay is the world's third largest exporter of soybeans.

Sopa Paraguaya

~Sopa Paraguaya is the most traditional dish of Paraguay.

~It consists of meat dish made with corn flour and other ingredients like onions, lard, eggs, cheese and milk.

~Sopa Paraguaya is usually served on Holy Week, weddings, and certain family dinners.

~It is said that Sopa Paraguaya probably originated from a mistake made by the cook to the original founder and governor of Paraguay. The govener loved it and Sopa paraguaya was born.
