Subject: Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) |SBM(G)] Phase-II Guidelines

Amendment to the Paras 8.1, 8.2 and 8.5 reg.

Sir I am directed to refer to the Operational Guidelines of Swachh Bharat Mission

(Grameen) [SBM(G)] Phase-II. With regard to the management of faecal sludge in villages these Guidelines, inter alia envisage for option of co-treatment through the urban STPs/FSTPs and transportation of faecal matters through service providers in urban

areas. For plastic waste management. the Guidelines envisage for establishing forward market linkages. It is felt that for making best and optimum use of urban STP/FSTP facilities and for establishing forward market linkages for plastic waste management, regular coordination with urban development departments at Central and State Government levels

and Urban Local Bodies is required.

In view of this, provisions of Paras 8.1, 8.2 and 8.5 of the SBM(G) Phase-Il

Guidelines with regard to composition of the National Scheme Sanctioning Committee

(NSSC), State Water & Sanitation Mission and District Swachh Bharat Mission have been revised as under
