Modern art includes artistic work produced during the period extending roughly from the 1860s to the 1970s, and denotes the style and philosophy of the art produced during that era

The term is usually associated with art in which the traditions of the past have been thrown aside in a spirit of experimentation.

Modern artists experimented with new ways of seeing and with fresh ideas about the nature of materials and functions of art.

A tendency away from the narrtive which was characteristic for the traditional arts, toward abstraction is characteristic of much modern art. More recent artistic production is often contemprary or post modern are.

Imagism

Imagism stared by Ezra Poud and T.S Eliot.

Believed in the poetry could be purer by concentrating on the prcises ,clear , unqualified image.

Famous imagists : Pound , William carols williams , Marianne Moore , Wallace stevens.

Imagists rebelled against the sentimentality of 19th century poetry.

They demanded clear expression ,concrete images.

What is expressionism

Epressionism , according to R.G .Hagger , “ is aform of a romanitic art in which emotion or emotive elements , expresses though violent distorestion are taken to the point of the excess. It is a characteristic of the art which emerges and become dominant in time of the social and spiritual stress.

“ The painting , the primery art of which expressionism influenced , are full of vivid imagery and emotion are often discribed as a showing a touch of the dark side of the human nature”.

The tendency of an artist to distrot reality for an emotional effect. Its goal were not to creates passive impression and moods , but to

stongley expressed intense , feeling and emotions The primery expressionist musical movement was atonality.

Dadaism

The dada movement began around 1915 and continued untill about 1923.

Accordind to the artists , dada was not real art , it was anti art meant to be everything opposite of what art stood for.

The artists and poets who followed the dadaism used to collage arrange objects ad words in to meaningless and inlogical patterns.

Symbolism is a literay movement which had its origin in France in the latter half of the nineteenth century.

The presentation of an invisible sign such as an idea or a quality in to somthing visible.

What is symbolism ?

Symbolism is when the author uses an objects or reference to add deeper meaning to a story. Symbolism is used to provied meaning to the writing beyond what is actually being described. A symbol can enhance a theme , idea, or a charecter. Symbolism can take palce by having the theme of the story represented on a physical level ,

example like :

1 – Flowers : Floweres can symbolize youth or beauty. As well as Rose represent the love . 2 – Apple : The apple is populer subject in many works of the art , and both classical and

modern. In the christian tradition it is often depicted as the furite of the forbidden tree. And today's technology -drive genration .

The color Blue : way do artists almost always potray the virgin Mery wearing blue?

Because the color blue traditionaly smbolizes truth and clearity , apart from being the color of the sky which symbolised heaven , when she belongs being the Mother of God .

River : A river in a sence could represent the flow of life , from birth to death.

Cubism

Cubism is a style of art created in the 1908 by Pablo Picasso and George Braque.They both used a lots of cubism in thire paintings.

Picasso was the Founder of the Cubism.

Cubism painting are paintings which are broken up, analyed and put togather in a abstarct way- instead of drowing the picture from one angle.

Surrealism

Surrealism is a cultural movement and artistic style that was a founded in 1924 by Andre Breton.

Influenced by psychoanalitycal works of Sigmund Freud and cart Jung.

The movement was begun primerily in europe , in Paris.

Surrealism style uses visual imagerary from the subconscious mind to create art without the intention of logical comprehensibility.
