IT3307: Primary cooling system modifications
DESCRIPTION The already existing pipelines for chilled and mixed water (on RB86 side), compressed air (on both sides) and demineralised water (on RB84 side) shall be prolonged. The counting houses cooling lines shall be installed and equipped. Metallic supports for the transfer lines of detector cooling units shall be constructed on the RB84 side of the UX85.

Others (1/5): Backup chiller for IT, TT and
VELO cooling stations
DESCRIPTION An air chilled fridge unit (32 kW cooling capacity) shall be provided as a backup for the IT, TT and VELO cooling systems, in order to supply mixed water at 13°C in case of breakdown or maintenance of the standard network. The chiller will be located on top of the barracks and equipped with automatic valves.

Others (2/5): SPD/PS detectors air cooling
DESCRIPTION The electronic acquisition cards for the SPD and PS, dissipating a total heat power of about 4.4 kW shall be cooled down with a
dried and filtered air flow at 6 bar pressure. All components of the cooling system shall be positioned into a zone of the protected area still to be defined according to technical
and integration matters.

Paolo Guglielmini - TS / CV LHCb Install Meeting - 20/04/2005
Others (3/5): Muon on-detector air cooling
DESCRIPTION The on-detector electronic, fitted with the Muon chambers in stations M1-M5 shall be cooled by means of a forced air circulation. The air will be taken form the bulk by a fan, and exhausted to the bulk, the cooling capacity being assured by the cavern ventilation system.
The heat dissipated by on-detector electronic is 3.5 kW for station M1, 3 kW for stations M2 and M3 and 2 kW for stations M4 and M5.
SCHEDULE Cooling system tested and
commissionedFebruary 2006
Paolo Guglielmini - TS / CV LHCb Install Meeting - 20/04/2005
Others (4/5): Gas compressor cooling
DESCRIPTION Two gas compressors located in building 2870/R-004 release during normal functioning a heat power of about 8 kW each. An independent cooling unit shall be connected to both compressors in order to dissipate such heat power.
