Why visit pantherfamilies? Maintaining communications with your new UWM student is impor-tant whether you live hundreds of miles away or just down the block. Research indicates that students whose families are connected to their college experience are more likely to make their first weeks on campus successful ones – and proceed all the way to graduation day.

To the proud family of:
All new freshmen and their families are invited to UWM's second-annual Panther Family Weekend, Oct. 9-11.
Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis at familyweekend.uwm.edu. Tickets are $15 each and include meals, event costs and entertainment. Several area hotels offer discounted room rates to UWM visitors.
More than 600 students and family came from Milwaukee, neighboring counties, Texas, Pennsylvania and elsewhere to meet up with their UWM student(s) for Family Weekend 2008.
Friday: The weekend begins with two fine Milwaukee traditions: a fish fry in the early evening and a performance by ComedySportz.
Saturday: ‘Breakfast with the Chancellor’ starts the Saturday programming, plus an evening cookout and UWM soccer game.
Sunday: Sunday gets off to a fast start at 10 a.m. with the Panther Prowl, UWM’s annual 5K run/walk, plus a follow-up celebration at 11 a.m. Close the weekend cheering on the UWM women's soccer team. Go Panthers!
