A Note from the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope the start of the school year has been great for you and your child. It has been great for us. We have enjoyed getting back into the swing of things. We ask that you check your child’s planner every evening. Students are writing their homework, assignments, and quiz/test dates in their planners.
Clubs and athletics have started. This week we had our first Science Club meeting. Mr. Bethke (6th grade Science teacher) partnered with the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to bring robotics to Panorama. We encourage every student to get involved in one extracurricular activity. We have amazing opportunities. We are in the middle of Cross-country and Softball. Wrestling and Volleyball will be starting soon.
7th grade students can still participate in the 7th Grade Initiative with the YMCA. By signing up, students receive a free membership to the YMCA. Additionally, they can participate in after-school activities. If you are interested in learning more, we have flyers in the front office. We have also started our after-school program with Deerfield Community Center. This is open to any student. They meet every Monday-Thursday from 4:00-5:15. Flyers are available in the office.
Please check our website and Facebook page to learn more about upcoming events.
Let us know if you have any questions (719-579-3220). I hope you have a wonder-ful September.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Domangue, Principal
September 2017
ATTENDANCE One factor in your student’s success is regular and punctual attendance.
Frequent tardiness or absence can quickly interfere with a student’s pro-
gress and result in poor academic work. At Panorama, we have been
working hard to impress upon our students the importance of getting to
class on time.
Please remember to call 579-3220 and excuse your son/daughter when
they are absent.
If for some reason your child is out for a medical reason, please bring in
the proper documentation in order for our attendance clerk to excuse the
absences for professional documentation. For example, doctor’s appoint-
ment, dentist appointment, counseling sessions, etc. Please understand
that the excused absence will only be for the time your child is at the
appointment.
Colorado Springs What If Festival
PPCC partnered with Panorama to take our
Creativity Matters class to the What If Festi-
val for the opportunity to participate in many
innovative and interactive booths at the festi-
val. Our students were able to be a part of a
global communications with people from var-
ious other countries during this event. Stu-
dents gathered information to bring to their
class as they will be preparing to participate
in the festival with a booth of their own next
year.
Sports News We are excited to announce that sports have begun at Panorama. The students
are involved in softball and cross country at this time. Please refer to the up-
coming events section for the dates of any games.
Any student wishing to participate in any sport must have the proper paperwork
filled out in order to begin. You can get the paperwork for your student in the
front office. Also any student wishing to play a sport must obtain a yearly
physical. Physicals can be obtained through our Entrada
Clinic located at Carmel Middle School.

District Corner News – September 2017
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year in Harrison School District Two (HSD2). We offer many opportunities for you to be informed about the direction of our school district and hope
you will take advantage of each one. Be in the know!!
Sign up at your campus for email and text communication from your school and the District

Check our website regularly at www.hsd2.org
Sign up to be a VIP (Very Involved Parent) via the District website
We also hope to share a bit here each month about programs that HSD2 offers our scholars. We are proud to have the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) system
implemented at each of our Middle and High schools. The majority of our AVID scholars are first generation, non-traditional college attending; often English is not their first language,
with many coming from what society considers impoverished backgrounds. AVID scholars are often our C students who without AVID may graduate our educational system without a
plan for “what’s next”, and who may not be academically prepared and ready for success in any 4 year university. Through the support provided by the AVID system and practicing the
WICOR strategies, our scholars become top performers. They learn vital skills needed for academic success and a successful pathway throughout life.
