BACKGROUND
� Panera Bread started off under ownership of Au Bon Pain Co., Inc. in 1981
� In 1993 they purchased the Saint Louis Bread Company and by 1999 the name was changed to Panera Bread
� As of Sept. 2012 there are 1,625 bakery-cafes in 44 states and in Ontario Canada
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
� Analyze the research of Panera Bread and how it relates to college students ages 18-22
� Figure out how they feel about the cost and nutrition of the café
� Utilize focus groups and surveys and study its content analysis to get feedback from its demographics
RATIONALE WHY DID WE DO THIS RESEARCH?
� To get feedback on where Panera Bread stands with Flagler College students
� Do they eat there for cost of the food or the nutrition of the food?
� Provide Panera Bread with feedback to meet needs of this demographic
� Gain more customers in the college age demographic and keep loyal customers

� 3 focus groups: 4 females & 4 males, 3 females, 3 males
� Conducted at Flagler College Proctor Library
� Focused on open-ended questions regarding cost and nutrition
