In 1994, Gela Nash-Taylor (and Pamela Skaist-Levy, both living in California decided to create their own fashion label, called Travis Jeans, selling maternity pants. In 1996 the two girls changed the name to Juicy Couture.

In 2001, they introduced the track suit, the item that the company is most famous for.
