Youth must qualify at the County Food Show to advance to this contest. 5 Nutrion Quiz Bowl Contest This contest will be held in Vernon. Sheep & Goats will begin at 9:00 a.m., Swine will begin at 10:00 a.m & Cale will begin at 11:00 a.m. Please bring your animals, except for swine. 11 County Rabbit Tag-In Rabbits that will be shown at the Palo Pinto County Livestock Show must be tagged-in from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the EXPO building in Mineral Wells. 19 Major Livestock Show Exhibitors Meeng This meeng will take place at the Extension office beginning at 6:30 p.m. Show packets will be available. Attention Major Livestock Show Exhibitors

Quality Counts verification is required for all youth exhibiting livestock

(market and/or breeding) at major livestock shows in Texas (including the

Ft. Worth Livestock Show, San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Houston

Livestock Show and Rodeo, Star of Texas Fair in Austin, San Angelo

Livestock Show, Sandhills Stock Show in Odessa, State Fair of Texas in

Dallas, and Heart O’ Texas Fair in Waco). The verification process will

require exhibitors to pass an online test with a minimum of 80% .

Exhibitors only need to be verified once as a junior exhibitor and once

again as a senior exhibitor. Junior is 8 and in the 3rd grade through 13

years of age as of the previous August 31st. Senior is 14 years or older as

of the previous August 31st. This must be completed before entering any

major livestock show.

PPCLA’s - Deadline for 4-H/FFA Enrollment for

County Show Eligibility

Any bona fide and regularly enrolled member of a 4-H

(membership deadline by December 15, 2016) and/or

FFA chapter in Palo Pinto County shall be eligible to show.
