Construction and Components

Uprights – Preassembled, all rust proof, corrosion

resistant, galvanized steel construction. Strong,

continuously roll-formed posts with spreaders that are

swedge-locked in place; no welds to break. Engagement

tabs are 2” OC.

Available 9, 12, 15, 18, 22, 24 inch deep (28 special

order)

Heights: 3-14 feet (special heights are available in 6”

increments and)

Wood Shelves – ¾” edge-glued Eastern white pine

with crimped on galvanized steel end channels;

notched to engage upright tabs. Lesser grade vis-à-

vis all wood system shelving. Smooth sanded

surface but unfinished.

Sizes: 9,12,15,18,22,24 inch deep (28 inch special order).

24,36,42,48 inch wide

Can be treated with fire-retardant paint ($.40/SF upcharge)

Considered light/medium duty shelf; see deflection chart….the

wider the shelf, the more it will deflect.

Construction and Components

Steel shelf – Rust proof, corrosion resistant galvanized

steel. Shelf is hemmed front and back and reinforced

with hat section for strength. Fully assembled using

toggle-lock construction (patented process); no welds

to break.

Sizes: 9,12,15,18,22,24 inch deep (no 28”) and

24,36,42,48 inch wide

Load capacity similar to wood shelf…see chart.

Shelf can be perforated to meet specific fire codes;

net upcharge $3.50/shelf, 3 week lead time.

Other Components

X-Bracing: Used for lateral stability. Galvanized

steel construction. (Refer to Install Instructions)

Every free-standing unit gets 1 XB if the unit is

under 10 ft. high and 2 XB if 10 ft. and above.

X-Brace every other section of shelving in a

run; same rules apply as above.

Back-to-back shelving sections can share x-

braces

Use XB with “S” designation if the unit is 3’or

4’ high

Other Components Hang rod assembly: Used for hanging

merchandise or product. Consists of two

galvanized steel end brackets and either one or

two, 1” diameter plated steel pipes. Available

for 18, 22, or 24 inch units.

Other Components

Back-to-back Clip: Used for additional stability on back-to-

back free-standing or mobile shelving units.

Use one near top and one near bottom of

the joining uprights. (see install sheet)

Floor Bracket: Galvanized steel “L” bracket, generally

used to anchor uprights on a seismic application.

Does not include 3/8 x 3 anchors

Can also be used on any free-standing

unit to anchor to the floor

Metal Kickplate: Galvanized steel 5”high x

24, 36, 42 or 48 inches long. Keeps debris

and/or product from collecting below

Construction and Components

Shelves: ¾ inch edge-glued, display grade Eastern

white pine. Shelf end channels are powder coated,

roll formed steel for strength and durability.

Available unfinished, clear finished

or in a tinted white wash finish. All

shelving is sanded smooth and

finished in a nontoxic, FDA

approved UV topcoat.

Sizes: 9,12,15,18,22,24 inch depths

(28” special order) and 24,36,42,48

widths.

Solid Wood Uprights

Constructed of furniture grade Western

hemlock; strong and resistant to twisting

and warping.

Posts/Stiles measure 1 5/16” x 1 1/2” and

are drilled with 3/16” holes, 1” OC. A 3/8”

x 5/8” plow runs the full length to accept

shelves. Horizontal spreaders (3-4) are

mortised, glued and nailed to provide a

rigid structure.

All components are sanded smooth and all

edges are eased.

Lateral Support Components

X-Brace – Galvanized steel (same as

Stockroom shelving XB), generally used

on storage applications.

FSKIT – Free-standing kit Is constructed of

(2) hemlock headboards and (2)

footboards attached to the uprights with

connector hardware at predrilled

locations. Provides lateral strength,

enhanced aesthetics and pass through

display/storage.

Free-Standing Kit takes the place

of an x-brace. When ordering,

specify that uprights be drilled to

accommodate and FSKIT.

Top rails are 1 1/2 inches high,

bottom rails are 3” high. Provides

a “finished” appearance.

Hang Rod Components

Hang rod components are ordered

separately; requires (2) supports

and (1-2) pipes. Available

12,15,18,22 or 24” deep. Spruce

construction.

Kickboard

Eastern white pine 3 3/8 x 24,36,42,48 inches; ends are

slotted for mounting.
