We've Arrived! After months of dreaming, deliberating, planning and preparing, we have finally made the move to Mexico City. We arrived here safely, with our pets and all our bags, on Tuesday, March 31st.

It was difficult leaving friends and family behind in the US, but like anyone who's ever moved to a different place can tell you, you can have your "home" in more than one place, and what a blessing that is!

God is writing a new chapter in our lives and we are excited for all that is in store for us here in Mexico City.

We are deeply grateful to our family, friends, and supporters for believing in us and for supporting our plans. This strong base of support is what allows us to do what we do. So we thank each one of you for being a vital part of our lives and our work. We pray that God will bless you richly according to the immeasurable riches of His grace found in Jesus Christ our Lord.

I've Graduated! It is with great pleasure that I announce my graduation from Sunset International Bible Institute's flagship Bible program. I started this journey almost three years ago in the Fall of 2012, and now, it's come to a fulfilling end.

My time at SIBI was filled with various joys but many challenges as well, but it is an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. During this time, I not only gained a better understanding of Scripture, but I also developed a deeper relationship with my Heavenly Father and with my friends and family.

Having the support of my wife, Dani, as I w e n t t h r o u g h t h e s c h o o l m a d e a tremendous, positive difference to my experience. When I would be worried about my grades (which was always), she would gently remind me of the greater purpose for us being there - to love God and to serve His people.

And then, there was our family and friends, supporting us and cheering us along the way. Without any one of these key components, our time in Lubbock would have looked much different, and probably not in a good way.

Coming Up... June 1 - AIMers arrive!

July 3-8 Group from Portland, OR, visiting.

...But, as it is, we have a God who is eternally faithful, and who works all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever. Amen.

  • Delegacin Benito Jurez. This is where we live! It is one of the older parts of

town and is not as dense as other parts that are to the North and East.

Mexico City so far... Living in this gigantic city has been a major learning experience for us. Getting anywhere takes at least half an hour, and on Fridays, it's almost not worth it to leave the house at all! Ok, that's an exaggeration but that's how it feels.

The public transportation system is very efficient but also heavily crowded during the morning and evening commuting hours. There are also thousands of taxis that ply the streets and they are pretty reasonably priced.

Map of the Federal District (D.F.) and its 16 delegations.

We like where we live! It is pretty centrally located with transportation options all around. There is also a supermarket right across the street from us, which is nice. We live about a 10-minute walk away from the Rocha missionary family and the AIMers will live within a 10-minute walking radius from us. This is also one of the more safer parts of town and has a high police presence.

It is also relatively more expensive to live here, compared to other parts of Mexico, and in some cases, even compared to Lubbock. Clothing, electronics, furniture, and kitchen appliances are all considerably more expensive than what you would find in the States.

But, we love this city! It has captured our hearts since the very first time we set foot here and we are excited to get to know it better.

And on that note, we'd love for you to come and visit us here!

  • Ministries There are a lot of ministry opportunities available to us here. Our focus right now is on establishing solid relationships with the church members. This process takes time but it is the most vital piece of any ministry. We do this by visiting families in their homes, attending study groups together, working on projects together, etc.

Once the AIMers get here, we will help them move into their accommodations, get their utilities set up, help them register for Spanish classes, and coordinate their ministry commitments on a day-to-day basis. We will also have a special devotional time with the team each week and will meet with each of the team members on a regular basis.

English Classes Starting May 30, we will be offering free, weekly English classes at the church building, close to downtown. This will be a joint effort made by Dani, myself, the Rocha family, the Molina family, the AIMers, and other church members.

Our desire is more than just to teach English, it is to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the millions of this city who are not covered by His blood. If we can start with a few people in a classroom where they have a desire to receive something that we are willing and capable of giving, then that's a good place to start.

So, please be praying for this opportunity that it will become an avenue to bring many lost souls into the family of God.
