TREE, PALM AND SHRUB PRUNING

Proper pruning is essential to maintain the health, structural integrity and the aesthetics of your trees, palms and shrubs. We work with you to determine the type of pruning necessary to maintain or improve the health, appearance and safety of your trees.

Our professionally trained arborists prune your trees, palms and shrubs in order to remove fruits, dead, dying, diseased or damaged limbs, increase light/air penetration by selective thinning, and eliminate potential hazards.

We prune to industry approved standards, so you can be assured your trees and shrubs will receive the highest standard of care.

TREE/PALM FELLING

Tree and palm removal is a highly technical, potentially dangerous and specialised skill that requires the services of a qualified professional.

Most tree removals in urban areas present a challenge. Trees in suburbia are generally surrounded by buildings and other infrastructure. Large trees require careful dismantling by highly trained personnel utilising industry specific machinery to ensure safety and the protection of your home and property.

We work with you to determine the type of pruning necessary to maintain or improve the health, appearance and safety of your trees.

EMERGENCY SERVICES/STORM DAMAGE

Sudden storms can cause serious damage to your property by fallen or damaged trees. The Palm Guys provides 24 hour, 7 day a week emergency response to storm damage. We will respond to the scene, assess the situation and then act in the safest and most efficient manner.

With years of experience, properly trained staff and professional specialised equipment, there is no situation we cannot handle.

STUMP GRINDING

Stump grinding is a method by which a palm or tree stump is removed after it has been cut down.

The Palm Guys use equipment designed with the latest technology and have the ability to grind all stumps from small in confined spaces to large tree stumps.

MULCHING

Mulching trees is a very effective method to reduce landscape maintenance and keep plants healthy by enriching the soil with nutrients. It helps to lock the moisture in the soil and evaporation rates can be reduced by as much as 70%, thus keeping more water in the ground, it reduces water runoff and soil erosion to a large extent.

TRANSPLANTING

Transplanting is a method that is used to move a tree, palm or plant to another area. Mature palm transplants are a complex process that requires planning and ongoing maintenance.

The Palm Guys team is highly skilled and experienced in all aspects of transplanting mature palms.

LICENCED CHEMICAL APPLICATION AND CONTROL WEEDS

The Palm Guys are certified to carry and apply chemicals and undertake weed control.

MAIN ROADS CLEARING

The Palm Guys are experienced in clearing large trees and shrubs away from the edge of the road (including highways and motorways). The team work alongside traffic controllers to ensure the safety of the team and the general public. The Palm Guys have the necessary skills, experience and equipment to efficiently and safely complete this type of work.

With over 18 years Arboriculture industry experience, Brian leads our specialist team of professionals.

His expertise provides the technical direction and knowledge and ensures the operational safety of every project. Brian is passionate about all aspects of the Arboriculture industry which is evident in The Palm Guys’ unblemished performance and safety record.

≥ Over 18 years’ experience in the Arboriculture industry. ≥ Ensure work is performed to meet safety, environmental and legal

responsibilities in accordance with standard work practices, on the job monitoring and provision of suitable training.

≥ Organise and allocate physical and human resources to ensure project schedules and budgets are met on a daily basis.

≥ Implement and maintain competency based training with performance measurements for Arboriculture industry.

≥ Perform commissioning and maintenance testing on plant, as required. ≥ Exercise a high level of technical knowledge and motivation to make

informed decisions and recommendations. ≥ Provide technical guidance to others in the work team, understand and

implement quality systems, perform incidental and peripheral work and assist in providing on the job training.

≥ Perform a range of duties, consistent with the Arboriculture industry. ≥ Seamlessly manage daily work program tasks consistently ensuring

HINOWA ELEVATED WORK PLATFORM

The Hinowa Goldlift Elevated Work Platform is an Italian made machine. It has been designed for confined space access and elevates to a height of 14.7 metres. It has the ability to fold up to a width of 800mm and is track mounted. The machine is able to access areas with stairs or uneven ground and because of its narrow base when folded, it can fit through a standard size gate opening.

As far as possible and where access is viable, The Palm Guys utilise Elevated Work Platforms and other non-invasive methods of access to trees. We do not use climbing spikes when pruning palms and trees due to aesthetics, disease transferral and to assist in the prevention of rot pockets. This ensures the health, wellbeing and longevity of the tree isn’t compromised.
