AS LONG AS THERE ARE ELKS, THE VETERANS WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.

For any additional information please contact Rob Kronen (386)864-7178 or the Lodge Secretary.

Veterans Committee *** REQUEST ***

Thanks to all of your clothing donations, the Emery L. Bennett Veterans Nursing Home has informed us that they

now have enough clothing to supply the veterans under their care. Therefore the Palm Coast Elks, will temporarily

suspend the clothing drive until we are asked to resume donations. The director at ELB that the lodge interfaces

with stated, “That our disabled Veterans would appreciate it, if we could provide Branch of service hats

and shirts - Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard & Marines, and no particular sizes.”

As you may know, Emery L. Bennett Veterans Home is our Lodge's adopted veteran’s facility. All donated new

hats and shirts will be delivered to ELB by a lodge member so that they have them in time for Veterans Day

11/11/2015.

The Past Exalted Rulers Association will be holding its Winter Raffle to support

our Florida Harry-Anna Trust which funds the Florida Elks Youth Camp and the

Children’s Therapy service and the National Elks foundation. The foundation funds

our Children’s Scholarship programs. These are two tax exempt organizations that

will split the proceeds of the Christmas Raffle after expenses like mailing and ticket

supplies. First prize is $1,000, second prize is $500, and third is $250.

This month you can expect to receive 2 tickets for the Raffle. The tickets are only

$5.00 each. So for only 10 bucks you could have 10 crisp new $100.00 Dollar bills to

spend.

Christmas is the time of year when we celebrate the birth of Christ, and when our thoughts turn to family and

friends, anticipating good will, social gatherings, gifts and the great foods of the holiday season. It’s a won-

derful time of year for every Lodge to show its “Elks Pride and Community Focus” by being a beacon of

hope for the community and showing that Elks live and Elks give from the heart.

If you have been waiting for just the right opportunity to get more involved in your Lodge, the holidays are

the perfect time to get started. There is so much going on at your Lodge, and there will certainly be some-

thing that you will enjoy! Why not step forward to participate in the holiday activities at your Lodge or join

with other Members in a community service program to help bring a smile to the face of a Veteran or a child,

or to assist someone in need? Your efforts will be greatly appreciated, and will fill your heart with the true joy of

the holiday season, increase your pride in membership and may even spark a desire to become more involved and active at your

Lodge.

In addition, this is a great time of year to attract new Members by showing how “Elks Care – Elks Share.” As we advance and

strengthen our presence in our communities, we also introduce our friends and neighbors to Elkdom and prove ourselves a reliable

community partner. Through our enthusiastic volunteer service, we are able to put a face on our Lodges, encourage others to learn

more about the Elks, who we are and what we do, and increase the opportunities for new Members to join our Order.

Nancy and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, a wonderful holiday season and a safe and happy New Year.
