DesmondThere’s not enough words that can describe what my granddaddy meant to me, but at the same time I’m hurt that I couldn’t spend more time with him. No matter the circumstances he was there for us. His humor and laughter will be missed the most, and his unconditional love. I love you Granddaddy, this is one of the hardest things I had to do in my life so far. I will miss you and you’re forever in my heart. Love Desmond – “SHO YOU RIGHT”

qEbonne

The most painful goodbyes are the ones never said and never explained. You’re forever in my heart. Rest easy Mr. “SHO YA RIGHT”

qCierra

I remember when I called myself being so hungry and granddaddy had cooked. I scurried my little self out of the room to get some of it. I looked on the plate and was like “Granddaddy what’s this?” He looked at me and said, “err a uhm, that’s pot roast there CeCe”. So I ate it, and boy was it good. I brought my plate out and I looked at Granddaddy and I said, “That pot roast was good”. Just for him to say, “Oh that was some deer, but I’m glad you liked it!” and started cracking up. I couldn’t even be mad, we both just laughed so hard because I ate Bambi for the first time. You will be missed Granddaddy. I love you.

qIsaiah

You affected so many people on this earth by just being you. I learned a lot from you granddad, memories that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

EpiphanyI only had brief encounters with Pop Quiller, but he meant the world to me. When he showed up to my graduation, it was such a surprise to me, I wanted to cry. He had so much life and happiness, he didn’t stop smiling the whole time, until I asked for their keys to the car. He’ll always be remembered for his ability to make you laugh when you’re down and the wisdom he gives for everyday life.

qEssence

Granddaddy meant the world to me. He was the one who always put a smile on my face. No matter what went on, he didn’t stop loving us. He will forever be missed.

qKaiya

Although you can’t be here with me, we are truly not apart until the final breath I take. You will be living in my heart.

qShai

This birthday most definitely won’t be the same for me in a few days knowing that I won’t’ be hearing the song in your version. I love you Granddaddy and I thank you. Your spirit and your great memories will remain with us forever. Fly high Granddaddy; you’re the coolest angel in heaven now, “Show Ya Right”.

T R I B U T E S

DestinyI looked at Granddaddy as my father. He was just that strong man, that when you call and you need . . . he’ll come running. It’s like you would’ve never thought of Granddaddy leaving. He was supposed to stay forever but now since he’s gone, we have to make it our business that his spirit, his favorite line #ShoURight, will always live in this family.

qMia

Granddaddy made SHO this family stayed together and never fell apart. He was our backbone and my father figure. You will truly be missed. There was never a dull moment with you. Everything will be okay. You’re living within us. You want me to be strong RIGHT? “SHO YOU RIGHT” would be your answer. I love you so much and heaven has gained an angel.

qTori

From us sneaking food in the middle of the night, to me crying and confiding in him, he has always been this shining light for me in my life. I will never forget the impact he has made in my life. Being the first born, the first grandbaby, I wanted to make sure everything I did he was proud of. So, I graduated college, worked my behind off to get into my amazing job field, started a business and every step of the way, I always had his full support, love, and most importantly he was proud of me. As I write this, I just picture him smiling saying, “SHO YOU RIGHT TOETOE”. I love you Granddaddy!
