Pak-Sher has been an innovator in the design and manufacture of carryout and kitchen prep packaging since the early 1970’s. Pak-Sher invented many packaging products used throughout the restaurant, deli and grocery industry today.

Pop-up Quicksheets® were originally developed for service delis as a solution to customer complaints of “soggy” paper sticking to their sliced deli meats. More recently, Pak-Sher designed the easy on-off food handling Sher-Mitt® to minimize potential cross-contamina-tion in kitchens. The Sher-Mitt is recommended by some health departments for protection of naked or gloved hands from cross-contamination in kitchen prep areas. Items such as our patented 2-cup drink carrier and catering bags for party trays were all Pak-Sher innovations.

Today, Pak-Sher is taking the lead in fl exible packaging sustainability through continued emphasis on increasing the utilization of post-consumer recycled content, developing reusable packaging, continuing to evalutate new sustainable resin sources and working locally to develop a bag recycling program.

The BOB Program

To further emphasize how the collected “BOB’s” are recycled, Pak-Sher invites 5th grade students to tour the bag manufacturing plant and see firsthand what happens to “BOB”. Pak-Sher’s Plant Managers and staff use the in-depth tour of the plant to introduce them to recycling through showing how BOB is ground up into resin, made into new plastic film, printed, and converted into bags. It is an educational event for students, teachers, and the Pak-Sher team who are riddled with question after question about the process and about recycling in general.

November, 2011… Pak-Sher began a program of plastic bag collection through the local school system in Kilgore, Texas.

This program continues to expand year after year and is now being considered in neighboring communities.

BOB is a “bag of bags”. We wanted an easy way for the kids to understand what the recycling program was about. A “BOB”

contains approximately 75 plastic grocery-type T-Shirt bags, equivalent to 1lb of recyclable material. For every BOB brought to

school for recycling, the students are entered into a weekly drawing for movie tickets.

Pak-Sher follows a strict Hazard Analysis Critical

Control Point (HACCP) program to identify, prevent and

correct problems that could aff ect the health and safety

of our consumers. This program is updated annually,

audited and verifi ed by an independent third party.

PRODUC T RECOVERY

Pak-Sher has perfected our product recovery program. Each year

we have at least one internal mock recovery and one mock recovery

audited by an independent third party. The auditor verifi es that we can

identify, track and locate 100% of materials used in our products, to the

fi nished products and on to the fi rst external customer within 2 hours.
