PAK 5.x is be ing developed cont inuously. The new PAK 5.10 not only prov ides users wi th enhancements in ex is t ing PAK too ls, but a lso wi th the implementat ion of new too ls and fur ther integrat ion into the PAK fami ly.

ASAM ODS SUPPORT

Since the beginning, PAK re l ies on the ASAM ODS ATFX format for data s torage. This inc ludes reading, wr i t ing and the management of measurement data. Browsing through data in ATFX format , postprocessing and analyzing ATFX data to generate new measurement data, generat ing ATFX measurement data f rom nat ive PAK measurements and graphical output of measurement data in ATFX format are just a few standard features. In addi t ion, PAK 5.10 reads the posi t ion and d i rec t ion of a measurement channel f rom ATFX geometr y.

64 -BIT APPLICATION

PAK 5.10 is a pure 64-b i t appl icat ion wi th h igh-per formance handl ing of large amounts of data .

INTERACTION WITH THE PAK CLOUD IO SERVICE

PAK 5.10 is an impor tant member of the PAK fami ly. Connect ing to the PAK c loud IO ser v ice enables dynamic data to be recorded in both c lass ic and PAK l ive modes, guaranteeing ef f ic iency in resources.

CONNECTION TO PAK CLOUD

PAK 5.10 inc ludes a d i rec t connect ion to PAK c loud, the new p lat form for s t reaml ined data ser v ices. PAK 5.10 can therefore use measurement data in e i ther ASAM ODS ATFX or PAK formats in data reposi tor ies in the PAK c loud. Measurement data can be accessed wor ldwide, is centra l ly avai lab le and can easi ly be shared and processed. An index-based func t ion is inherent which suppor ts enhanced searching of measurements through, for example, descr ipt ive data.

WORKFLOW

PAK 5.10 s impl i f ies analys is work f lows when st reaming data. In just one step, you can generate a repor t d i rec t ly f rom the measurement through graphic s t reaming. FFT-based order analyses or n th Octave analyses can be executed d i rec t ly f rom raw t ime data, wi thout dupl icat ing the data in postprocessing.

DATA PROCESSINGDATA ACQUISITION

PTP SYNCHRONIZATION

Our latest generat ion contro l lers suppor t synchronizat ion of measurement data wi th Prec is ion T ime Protocol (PTP) IEEE 1588v2. Easi ly and quick ly set up c lusters for d is t r ibuted measurements, at a phase accuracy of less than 0.2° at 10 kHz.

CAN

The suppor t of the c lass ic CAN protocol and i ts integrat ion into the PAK system are cont inuously being developed and improved upon. PAK 5.10 a l ready suppor ts data acquis i t ion of CAN data accord ing to the WWH-OBD2 standard. The CAN FD standard wi l l soon be avai lab le in the new ul t ra-mobi le measurement f rontend, the MICROQ.

SELF- CALIBRATION

Sel f- cal ibrat ion for a l l PAK MKII G2 Modules has been enhanced, resul t ing in faster t ime-to -measure and h igher measurement accuracy.

VAS GRAPHICS2GO

VAS Graphics2Go is an interac t ive too l which makes PAK graphics usable outs ide of PAK environments to improve communicat ion wi th in pro jec ts. Teams can work together wor ldwide wi th the analys is data of a measurement campaign wi thout the need to insta l l PAK sof tware. Interac t ive graphical repor ts are fu l ly func t ional in Microsof t ® PowerPoint ® or Word. Thus, metro log ical ins ights can ef f ic ient ly be presented to dec is ion-makers. Graphic presets and d i rec t access to other graphical func t ions and measurement informat ion are a lso avai lab le. Data is t ransferred v ia the Windows ® c l ipboard.

PAK MAP VIEWER

Driv ing speed informat ion obta ined from GPS s ignals can also be d isp layed in PAK 5.10, together wi th dynamic data. PAK map v iewer v isual izes the informat ion f rom the GPS s ignal us ing onl ine maps. Inc luded in the scope of func t ions are, for example, map d isp lays of the d is tance covered by a measurement , interac t ive coupl ing between the PAK cursor and the posi t ion cursor on the map, and p layback of the data in PAK. Vibroacoust ic phenomena are presented and analyzed accord ing to the ir spec i f ic contex t .

DATA ANALYSIS

AVL COMBUSTION KNOCKING INDEX

The “Combust ion Knock ing Index” (CKI) evaluates engine sound qual i t y f rom ear ly appl icat ion phase to ser ia l product ion. Based on physical ly measurable parameters (a i rborne or s t ruc ture -borne noise s ignals), t yp ical d iesel engine combust ion knock ing can be calculated wi th an a lgor i thm developed by AVL. This assessment enables objec t ive benchmark ing, a c lear def in i t ion of objec t ives and their rev iew throughout the ent i re development process. Thus, opt imizat ion in the engineer ing of acoust ic charac ter is t ics can be accelerated s igni f icant ly between the d i f ferent targets for emiss ion, dynamics, per formance, and consumpt ion.

FATIGUE

The new “Fat igue” appl icat ion enables f i rs t s tatements about s t ruc tural behavior. These can ser ve as ind icators for modal invest igat ions. Funct ions inc lude: Rainf low matr ix , c lass boundary exceedance spectrum, load spectrum and ampl i tude h is togram.

PSYCHOACOUSTICS – CALCULATION OF LOUDNESS

By defaul t , PAK suppor ts the calculat ion of s tat ionary and instat ionar y loudness accord ing to ISO 532-1.

INTERACTIVE WORKING

DRAG -AND -DROP

For data v iewing, drag-and-drop your ATFX and PAK data to ef for t less ly inser t i t into the graphical output . The drag-and-drop func t ion appl ies to mul t ip le measurements and prov ides a quick over v iew across measurements. In addi t ion, graphic layouts can be stored, enabl ing the use of company standards in a l l repor ts.

INTERACTIVE LEGENDS

Repor ts are even more power fu l wi th interac t ive legends that can f reely be posi t ioned in d iagrams or dragged and dropped into other d iagrams. Measurement po int descr ipt ions are a lso avai lab le as legend tex t .

ENHANCEMENTS IN GRAPHICAL OUTPUT

At the touch of a but ton, data values of a cur ve can easi ly be captured for fur ther calculat ions in, for example, Microsof t Excel ®. The representat ion of the measurement ser ies cyc le on a common absolute t ime scale a l lows for quick ass ignment of operat ing s tates to phenomena. Screens are opt imal ly ut i l ized wi th the f ree aspect rat io in the graphical output . Graphic pages can be created d i rec t ly f rom interac t ive graphic parameters and can easi ly be managed in the graphic def in i t ion.
