Edna Reindel, former New Yorker, hadone-man exhibitions at the Macbeth Gallery in 1934, 1937and 1940. Since her removal to Santa Monica, she hasshown regularly at the Francis Taylor Galleries, BeverlyHills, California.
Known for her New England landscapes, portraits, murals, still life fantasies, and flower paintings, she has made re-cent experiments combining emotional, psychological andrealistic forms, resulting in symbolic expressionistic paint-ing, which she defines as Psycho-realism. She has been represented in many largenational exhibitions, including the Corcoran Biennial, andthe Whitney Museum Annual.
Her paintings form part of the permanent collection ofsuch institutions as the Metropolitan Museum of Art;Whitney Museum of American Art; Ball State TeachersCollege; Canajoharie Art Gallery; LIFE Collection of WarPaintings, and have been acquired for such well-knownprivate collections as those of the lat .iliana Force, FrankCrowninshield, the Maharajah.'e '.i'dore, Ray MjllaiGreer Garson, Spencer Tracy and iHadi1 Hopper'.'.:..'

Aside from her unusual technical equipment, which has a
kinship with the Italian and Flemish primitives, Miss
Reindel shows an interesting inventive side.
-Art Digest
When it comes to marking the subtle differences of texture
in fruit and flowers and what-not, and capturing the every
day effects of the out-of-door world under the f~ll glare ot
day, Miss Reindel has few lessons to learn from anyone.
-New York Sun
Edna Reindel is that rare phenomenon, a painter whose
work is relished by good painters and the general public.
. . . Nationally acclaimed for her detailed perfection of
form and color, Miss Reindel, in California's blazing light,
has flowered to new daring, richer color, greater assurance.
Her portrait of Susie Tracy is worthy of Holbein.
