By Ángel Giraldez The horse is primed with 3 fine layers of Black Surface Primer 73.602. 1 To highlight and give tonality to the darker parts of the skin, Cork Brown 70.843 and Orange Brown 70.981 are added little by little. The tones are modified by adding more or less amount of the colors, as done in the horse’s muzzle where more Cork Brown is applied. The lights are marked even further adding Japan. Tanker Highlights 70.332 to provide depth in the muscles. Lastly, with Black 70.950 shadows are applied for depth in the internal muscles. To highlight the white part of the skin lines are done with Dark Sand 70.847 and Deck Tan 70.986 to simulate the fur effect. It is very important to combine both colors to create a more realistic effect. 4 5 6 With a mixture of 70% Black 70.950 and 30% Chocolate Brown 70.872 the other areas of the horse are painted. Japan. Tanker Highlights 70.332 is applied to the top part of the horse.
