Mandy Harvey is an award-winning singer,

songwriter and motivational speaker. She has

released multiple critically-acclaimed albums, and

won the VSA's International Young Soloist Award. After losing her

hearing due to a neurological disorder at 18 years old, Mandy

dropped out of her Vocal Music Education program at Colorado State

University. She pursued several career options including education,

but ultimately returned to making music. Though her hearing loss is

profound her timing, pitch, and passion are perfect. Together with

her band, she’ll light up the Haugh stage for an unforgettable

CHE MALAMBOThe powerhouse all-male Argentinian dance company,

Che Malambo, excites audiences with their percussive

dance and music. Malambo is a dynamic blend of precision

footwork, rhythmic stomping, drumming and song which

originated in the 17th century in the South American

Pampas. Born from the heart of the Argentine gaucho, it

soon evolved to include what is now its hallmark, zapeteo,

the fast-paced footwork inspired by the rhythm of galloping

horses. Malambo also features the drumming of traditional

Argentine bombos and whirling boleadoras, a throwing

weapon made up of intertwined cords weighted with stones.

by adapting Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility in a

bold and exciting new production. One of Jane Austen’s

most popular novels, this story revolves around the lives

of two sisters, Elinor who is level headed and full of

sense, and the hopelessly romantic Marianne. After the

untimely and unexpected death of their father, both

sisters and their mother are forced to leave their

comfortable lives, while their half brother and his wife

inherit the family estate. The only hope for these two

sisters is a profitable marriage. Directed by Aquila’s

comedy will incorporate her innovative use of

dance and music. Malambo is a dynamic blend of precision

footwork, rhythmic stomping, drumming and song which

originated in the 17th century in the South American

Pampas. Born from the heart of the Argentine gaucho, it

soon evolved to include what is now its hallmark, zapeteo,

the fast-paced footwork inspired by the rhythm of galloping

horses. Malambo also features the drumming of traditional

Argentine bombos and whirling boleadoras, a throwing

Mandy Harvey is an award-winning singer,

songwriter and motivational speaker. She has

released multiple critically-acclaimed albums, and

won the VSA's International Young Soloist Award. After losing her

hearing due to a neurological disorder at 18 years old, Mandy

dropped out of her Vocal Music Education program at Colorado State

University. She pursued several career options including education,

but ultimately returned to making music. Though her hearing loss is

honored Gershwin standards including I Got Rhythm, Someone to Watch Over Me, The Man I Love, and many more.

Gershwin’s poetic style includes Broadway, Hollywood, and classic American standards whose lasting legacy makes them
