Crestview Store: 100 Days Consecutive Without
a Negative Customer Comment
CRESTVIEW, FL –GM John Busbee and his team at store 13238 certainly have what it takes
to do the job right.
On December 27, 2020, John’s team reached a milestone when they recorded their 100th
consecutive day without receiving a negative customer comment.
There is no truth to the rumors that this store is being renamed “Cal Ripken Jr’s – Burger King.”
Similar to the “Iron Man’s” consecutive game streak, Store 13238’s record will be tough to
break.
The team from 13238 stand proud of this achievement and look to build on it every day.

McLamore Booklet 2nd Chance Drive Produces
Déjà vu…All Over Again!!
GM Teresa Holt and her team at Store 89, shown here on the occasion of passing their latest REV, erased a second-place finish in the first round, with copping the top spot in the second round.
DESTIN, FL – The second round of the McLamore Coupon Booklet Sales Drive
ended at the start of January.
This additional round gave all stores another chance to not only raise money for a
worthy cause, but also knock the first-round winners out of their top perch.
The stores that locked down the top three spots in the last round did exactly that.
Additionally, it was on BKC’s national webcast, that restaurant # 89 was
announced as selling the most coupon books in the Southeast Region !!!

Trivia Corner
It’s a new year..2021 and last year’s retired, reigning champ, Teresa Holt, GM of store 89, is
now fully eligible to win again.
Here are the answers to last issue’s holiday-themed trivia contest:
1 – Winter Whopper, Smoky Mountain Whopper, Tender Crisp Magic
2 – Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Wilma Flintstone, Betty Rubble, Ruff, Ready, Quick Draw McGraw,
Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm, Dino, Baba Looie, and Top Cat
3 - Japan
4 - “Merry Cheesemas”
5 – “Call of Duty”
Since there was no winner, this month’s prize is now doubled. The first one who emails all the
correct answers to [email protected] will be declared the winner of a $20.00 gift card from
Target.
The decision of the judges is final and if you Google the answers…shame, shame…everyone
knows your name.
In addition to the Corporate team being ineligible to win, an employee may only be allowed
three wins in a calendar year.

Here we go with this month’s Trivia Contest.
With the holidays behind us, its back to business. You might notice that some of these questions
lean toward the HR side and I bet you can’t guess why.
1. Where are Workers Compensation “First Report of Injury and Illness” and General
Liability “Incident Reports” sent?
2. What does “ECP” stand for?
3. When onboarding a new hire, what step comes after the I-9?
4. What is the phone number for the “HR Hotline?”
5. When employing minors:
a) What is the minimum age for minors to work for CBH?
b) In the state of Florida, what must every store that employs a minor have on the
premises?
c) How long is the mandatory, uninterrupted break for a minor?
d) How long can the minor work before they must take that break?
Good Luck!!!

FHealth and Safety.
Storage of Heavy Items DESTIN, FL - The manual handling of cases of products or miscellaneous
equipment may expose workers to physical conditions (e.g., force, awkward
postures, and repetitive motions) that can lead to injuries, wasted energy, and
wasted time.
Not only properly training of our respective teams, but also the proper storage of
heavier items could assist us in, reducing or preventing injuries, reducing
workers’ efforts by decreasing forces in lifting, handling, pushing, and pulling
materials, reducing risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders (e.g., awkward
postures from reaching for heavier items stored on higher shelves), increasing
productivity, product and service quality, and worker morale, lowering costs of
workers’ compensation claims, excessive worker turnover, absenteeism, and
retraining.
The storing of items, particularly those that are heavier than others is key to
preventing incidents where boxes of product are stacked too high from falling
on unsuspecting employees.

CBH store's freezer and the boxes shown weigh approximately 36 lbs. each.
Some stores stack boxes almost to the ceiling of the freezer. For a person who is little over six
feet tall, these boxes would be well over their head.
Some of these boxes weigh in excess of 30 pounds.
Many of our employees are not as tall as that, but there are the unavoidable situations on an
almost daily basis where these employees are asked to retrieve the box on top of the stack.
If they try one of the lower boxes or adjacent stacks, they run the risk of the entire over-stacked
column toppling on top of them.
Here's the Safety Tip for us all:
"Heavier items should be stored above the knee, but below the shoulder."
By this point, you might be asking yourself, "My freezer is only so big. Where am I supposed to
put all this product?" or "Whose knee and whose shoulder?"

Each store is going to be different and product demands can vary from location to location, so
you might want to check with your Area Coach to ensure that your inventory, truck orders and/or
storage area availability are all being executed to their maximum efficiency.
You will also have to use your best judgment on the average height of your team or even your
own height, to guide you as to what is above the knee and below the shoulder.
CBH cares about all of its employees. We want our employees to be positive, professional and
most importantly....safe on every shift.
Please see your Area Coach with any questions....and
THANK YOU
for all you do!!!!
