Not only is 500X the f irst FIAT® vehicle to offer the confidence of available All-Wheel Drive (AWD), its drive system brings unique functionality and improvements over conventional AWD systems. While in Auto mode, the 500X features a disconnecting rear axle that helps to improve fuel efficiency by automatically selecting Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or AWD when necessary. It completely removes power to the rear axle when FWD performance is adequate during regular driving conditions.

This is a system that requires no input from the driver — all actions (including the AWD activation) are intelligently and seamlessly engaged based on conditions and driving style. And while the system boasts leading traction management advances, it also works to improve dynamic handling. This is how 500X turns good drivers into great drivers.

1.4-LITER MULTIAIR TURBO ENGINE FIAT 500X offers two extraordinary engine options, starting with the 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder that comes standard on Pop Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) models. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, this powerplant generates 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque — giving Pop a snappy performance true to its name.

2.4-LITER TIGERSHARK® MULTIAIR2 ENGINE The 2.4-liter Tigershark 1-4 engine with MultiAir2 utilizes electrohydraulic Variable Valve Timing and variable valve lift technology, producing 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. This sophisticated technology has been widely praised as breakthrough for its segment. Available on Pop FWD and standard on Pop All-Wheel Drive (AWD), Trekking and Lounge models.

500X knows the real world doesn’t always cooperate in bringing you ideal driving conditions. So, the FIAT Dynamic Selector puts three customized driving modes at your fingertips: the basic AUTO MODE is designed for the everyday, routine stuff — it will smooth things out to help optimize fuel efficiency, emissions and comfort.

For those who’d prefer a little more road-feel, a little more control, the FIAT Dynamic Selector has your number with the SPORT MODE. With it, the Electronic Stability Control7 and steering calibrations are tuned for a sportier feel and faster driving response. Additionally, the 500X SPORT MODE optimizes the transmission shift points for improved performance and accelerator feel in both Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD).

Driving outside the lines? The TRACTION+

MODE maximizes low-speed traction — the kind you need when things get a little slick or bumpy. It all works by providing additional wheel-slip through specially tuned chassis controls and a more direct engine response.

PARKVIEW® REAR BACK-UP CAMERA3

provides a wide-angle view of the area immediately behind the vehicle, giving the driver greater peace of mind before moving backwards at low speeds. It displays dynamic grid lines on a color touchscreen to aid the driver when the vehicle is in Reverse. Standard.

PARKSENSE® REAR PARK ASSIST SYSTEM3 can help you park and back out with grace. When the vehicle is in Reverse, these sensors detect objects in the rear back-up pathway and also provide an audible and visual warning so you have time to react. Available.

SEVEN STANDARD AIR BAGS12 surround you with a comprehensive air bag12 system. It features full-length front and rear side-curtain, driver’s inflatable knee blocker, seat-mounted side for front occupants, and advanced multistage driver and front-passenger air bags,12 all working together to help provide encompassing protection. Standard.

HILL START ASSIST Especially helpful when the grades are steep, this feature maintains brake pressure during the moments the driver lifts the foot off the brake and engages the gas pedal to gain forward momentum — for a smooth start every time. Standard.

REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY This feature allows you to lock and unlock the vehicle’s door(s) and liftgate by pressing and releasing the Remote Keyless Entry transmitter fob LOCK or UNLOCK buttons — from distances of up to 66 feet. The turn signal lights will flash to acknowledge the unlock, the horn will chirp when locked. Standard.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM This feature takes the guesswork out of deciding if your tires are at optimum fill level. It provides crucial, pinpointed information on your Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) at the moment tire pressure falls below the safe driving level on any tire. Standard.

ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINTS11 Head restraints are standard features designed to reduce the risk of injury by restricting head movement in the event of a rear impact. Head restraints should be adjusted so that the top of the head restraint is located above the top of your ear. Standard.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)7 is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicles during extreme steering maneuvers. ESC7 senses when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer) and attempts to correct the vehicle’s course by automatical ly controlling the throttle and applying the brakes to individual wheels. Standard.

ELECTRONIC ROLL MITIGATION (ERM) employs ESC7 sensors to anticipate potential risk situations. If things get rough, ERM takes immediate action to help you maintain stability and remain under control. Standard.

Certain features not available while the vehicle is in motion. iPhone must be within active cellular range. Customer’s existing iPhone data rates apply to Internet-supported features. (10) Voice Text Reply and Voice Texting features require a compatible mobile device enabled with Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP). iPhone and some other smartphones do not currently support Bluetooth MAP. Visit www.UconnectPhone.com for system and device compatibility. Ensure MAP is ON and incoming message notification is enabled. Vehicle must be registered for Uconnect Access and you must fulfill minimum subscription requirements. Also requires the use of a compatible smartphone that supports text messaging and Bluetooth. (12) The Advanced Front Air Bags in this vehicle are certified to the new U.S. Federal regulations for Advanced Air Bags. Children 12 years old and younger should always ride buckled up in a rear seat. Infants in rear-facing child restraints should never ride in the front seat of a vehicle with a passenger front air bag. All occupants should always wear their lap and shoulder belts properly. (13) Always check visually for vehicles prior to changing lanes. (14) This system is not intended to avoid collisions on its own, nor can FCW detect every type of potential crash. The driver must remain aware of traffic conditions and be prepared to brake and steer to avoid potential collisions at all times. (15) This system is a driver convenience system, not a substitute for active driver involvement. The driver must remain aware of traffic conditions and maintain control of the vehicle.
