Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 11:00 am 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

All household members age 18 years and older

must be present to sign.

You must have Social Security Cards for all

members of the household.

Birth Certificates must be provided for all house-

hold members and a photo ID for all adults.

If anyone is pregnant a statement must be pre-

sented as to due date.

For Public Housing you must have proof of in-

come. There may also be other documents that may be needed. You can come to the office and pick up a list that show what other documents will be needed.

JULY 4TH CELEBRATIONS The Downtown Henderson Partnership, will have its 4th of July fireworks Celebration, at Audubon Mill Park from 5:30 p.m.– 9:30 p.m.

As July 4 approaches, you and your children are probably thinking about sitting out in your yard with family and neighbors, eating barbecue, and watching beautiful fireworks bursting in the night sky. July 4 celebrations can be a lot of fun...

To ensure that you and your children have both a fun and safe July 4, please observe these fire-works safety tips:

Obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks Ensure all pets and animals are away from fireworks noise. Do not let your child play with fireworks, and do not use them yourself. Instead, take your

family to see the public fireworks display at Audubon Mill Park put on by professionals who know how to safely handle fireworks.

Avoid sparklers. They can potentially catch clothing on fire. Never attempt to make your own fireworks. Keep yourself and your child away from other people who are using sparklers or lighting

their own fireworks-bystanders are more frequently injured by fireworks than the people who use them.

Have water near-by for emergencies and for pouring on fireworks. Know where the closest phone is located-or carry a cell phone in case a fire occurs and the

RE-EXAMS For the residents who live in the Fagan devel-opment: It is time to do your yearly re-exams for the 2017 year. For the residents who cannot come to the office, Justina will be in Fagan Hall on July 13th at 1:30. This will be the only day that is scheduled for the office staff to be at the site. Please make every attempt to come to the hall this day. GLASSES Do you need new glasses? Audubon Area is partnering with NewEyes.org and because of this partnership they are able to assist clients with a totally free pair of glasses. In order to qualify you must have a recent eye exam (less than a year old), and be income eligible and your household income be at or below 200% U.S. poverty level. They can only offer a basic pair of single or lined bifocal glasses. This is at no cost to the client. Please call Crystal Childress at Audubon Area. The telephone number is 270-826-6071. HEARING Are you experiencing some hearing loss. There is nearly 700,000 (16%) deaf and hard of hearing residents in the state of Kentucky.

Hearing loss ranks as the third most common health issue in the country, behind heart dis-ease and arthritis. Men are more likely to ex-perience hearing loss than women. The KCDHH (Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) has a program called TAP (Telecommunications Access Pro-gram).

This program provides residents of Kentucky, who are deaf, hard of hearing, speech impaired or have both a hearing & vision loss, with landline or wireless equipment to make com-munication on the telephone more accessible, at no cost to them.

To be eligible:

You must be a legal resident of the Com-monwealth of KY. for a least 1 year.

You must be at least 5 years of age to ap-ply (Individuals must be 13 years of age or older to apply for a wireless device)

You must be deaf, hard of hearing, speech impaired or deaf-blind

You must verify telephone or internet service

If you are interested in learning more about this program, there are post cards in the recrea-tion halls at 840 North Adams, Fagan or the main office or you can call 1-800-372-2907.

July 25, 2017 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. South Middle School Henderson, KY

Physicians and Nurse Practitioners will be on hand to adminis-ter school physicals for preschool, kindergarten, first and sixth grade students. Dental, vision, and hearing screenings for all students will be administered as well. Face painting and other community booths will also be available along with a limited supply of free t-shirts and school supply vouchers.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A CAREER IN NURSING? The Housing Authority of Henderson is providing an opportunity for you to obtain your CNA License. Only students who are indeed sincere about starting and completing the class will be considered. Applicants desir-ing to secure a spot for the class may call for an interview. WELDING CLASS COMING SOON! The Housing Authority of Henderson & Henderson Community College/Welding Technology are joining efforts in sponsoring a welding class. There’s a huge shortage of trained welders in the U.S., and the sky is the limit. Certified Welders are among the highest paid of all the skilled trades. Visit salary.com to learn more about salaries in this field of study. We offer course work and practical experience to give you the skills and knowledge to determine and perform appropriate welding techniques. You will also learn blue print reading and flame cutting of metals. You will learn to use saws, drill presses, grinders, power shears, metal brakes, rolls, and numerous other hand tools. You will learn to fabricate trailers, frames, racks, and swings using steel plates, angle iron, pipes, channel iron, and other structural steel. Electrical Distribution System Work: Groves Electric will begin work on the electrical distribution system Housing Authority wide on July 5, 2017. This work is a very important upgrade to the Hous-ing Authority’s electrical system. Work trucks and workers will be present on all properties at some point, so please be mindful of the work that is taking place around you. There could possibly be some power outages, so please be patient. This will be an ongoing project.

Thank You: The Housing Author ity Staff would again like to thank you for your assistance with in-spection preparation. We still have not received scheduled dates for the inspections but we will notify you as soon as we have definite dates.

Pets: Please make sure when you leave the house with your pet, that you carry something with you to dispose of your pet’s waste properly. We are receiv-ing several complaints in this area. Pets must be on a leash and controlled by the resident, when outside. Visiting pets are NOT ALLOWED.

Grass Mowing: Grass cutting season is here. Please keep personal belongings out of the yard area to allow the mowers to their job.

Trash: All trash should be disposed in a tightly closed garbage bag, and placed in dumpsters, and not on the ground. This will help prevent unpleasant odors. Please clean up cigarette butts. Please let us know if you see visitors littering property. For all the fishermen, please do not place the dead fish in the dumpsters. Thanks!

Guests: Resident’s guests should remain with them at all times while visiting on the property. They should not be roaming around Housing Au-thority property alone. Guests must not use laundries and recreation halls. These facilities are for resi-dent’s use only.

Smoke Free Housing Thank you to all residents who are complying with the smoke free policy. For those not following the rules, we will be following the policy: First Offense-warning/assessment to cover cost of damage caused by tobacco smoke- $250.00

Second Offense - Lease Termination Reminder: Even is you are complying with policy and smoking 25 feet from the structures, you are still responsible for disposing of your cigarette butts into the proper containers. Thank you.

Contact the Housing Authority by the next business day about any damages or problems that may have occurred in your apartment. Mainte-nance will need to check the apartment to confirm the apartment is safe and any problems are fixed.
