The daughter of Cyrus and Alice Matilda Mount Stcgall, she was born October 25, 1895, near Abingdon. She married Albert Ellsworth Johnson on April 17, 1926, in Galcs- burg. She was preceded in death by her husband (Feb. 28, 1945); a son, Ken- neth Johnson; three sisters; three brothers; and three grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, Otis Johnson of Altona, Raymond Johnson of Williamsfield, Ralph Johnson of Eagle Lake and George Johnson of Abingdon; one daughter, Doris Cox of Galesburg; a brother, Everett Stegall of Gilson; 18 grandchildren; 33 great- grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tues- day, February 20, in Abingdon. Sympathy is extended to the fam- ily in their loss. Prajedes P. Garamillo July 21,1919 - February 20, 2001 Prajedes P. Garamillo, 81, of El Campo, formerly of Eagle Lake, passed away at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton. Born July 21, 1919 in Nixon, Texas, he was the son of Rosalio and Adcla Pantoja Jaramillo. A resident of Eagle Lake for most of his life, he worked in the sand and gravel quarries in the area before re- tirement. He had lived in El Campo for the past several years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Cervantes; and his brothers, Gregorio, Severo and Eduardo Garamillo. Survivors include his wife, Nico- lasa Flores Garamillo of El Campo; daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Hector Gutierrez of El Campo, Hortencia and James Salinas of Eagle Lake, Dora and Darnzel Levy of Cypress, Janic and Ralph Garcia of El Campo and Toni Jaramillo of Hous- ton; a son, Prajedes Jaramillo Jr. of El Campo; grandchildren, Eloy and Nicholas Gutierrez, Anthony Salinas, James Salinas II and Robert Salinas and D.J. Levy II; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones. A Vigil Service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 22, from the Chapel of Dulany Funeral Home in Eagle Lake. She owned and operated the Key Service Station in Eagle Lake for over 15 years before retiring. A devoted wife, mother, grand- mother, sister and businesswoman, she will be long remembered and missed by her family, friends and community. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Davie Moore (1963); brothers, Louis and Johnny Konviska; and granddaughter, Alexis Moore. She reported that the DRT Chapter could reserve the La Grange City Hall meeting room at no charge. Time and agenda were dis- cussed. It was decided that the Infor- mational Meeting for the public would be held on Feb. 3 at the La Grange City Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. A Dutch Treat lunch will be optional. Members of the Monument Hill Chapter will lead the meeting and answer ques- tions. Cookies, juice and coffee will be prepared by the DRT members. Secretary Stancik requested that all members have their volunteer hours ready to report at the next meet- ing, March 3. President Williams appointed a Nominating Committee. Williams read a letter inviting the Monument Hill Chapter of DRT to participate in a Grave Marking at the Eagle Lake Masonic Cemetery for Thomas Zumalt. The ceremonies will be held March 31 at 11 a.m. Marble made a motion that our Chapter par- ticipate in the ceremonies. Hill sec- onded the motion. The motion carried. All members are invited to attend and participate. Albrecht made a motion that our Chapter donate $25 to the DRT Cradle. Bean seconded the motion. The motion carried. Committee reports were then read. Registrar Albrecht reported that Linda Hass had decided not to pursue mem- bership at this time. Hill, CRT sponsor, reported that our CRT participated in Christmas at the French Legation. They also par- ticipated in a tree planting at the Lega- tion. The meeting adjourned with a delicious luncheon served by the host- esses. Clothing tour is March 13 4-H members from Colorado County will have the opportunity to participate in a tour of Mission Valley Fabrics in New Braunfels and Mullins Square in Austin. The tour will take place Tuesday, March 13, and is limited to the first 25 4-H members and adult leaders who sign up. Mission Valley Fabrics manufac- tures denim, Mullins Square designs and specialty clothing items. Anyone wishing to go on the tour must register by calling or coming by the County Extension Office no later than Friday, March 2. Participants will need to wear walking shoes and bring a sack lunch. We will seek to provide reason- able accommodations for all persons with disabilities for this activity. Yearbook update By Jenna Hoffman Raider Review Staff The annual staff has been hard at work preparing for the 2000-2001 yearbook. Students were given the opportu- nity to put down a payment of $15 in order to reserve a book. Staff members are creating their pages that relate back to the theme "2001: A Raider Odyssey". This year's yearbook is being dedicated to Coach Russell Roark. Orders will be taken one final time March 6-8, during all lunches.

    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 23 from the Chapel of Dulany Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Webb, pastor of First Baptist Church of Katy, officiating.

    Interment followed in Lakeside Cemetery in Eagle Lake.

    Dulany Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    Pallbearers were grandsons, Johnny Braddock, Joey Owens, Chris and Michael Maretka, Robby Henske and Rusty Moore.

    Sympathy is extended to the fam- ily in their loss.

    The Monument Hill Chapter Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) met at the home of Carolyn Marble in Lincoln, Texas, on Satur- day, Jan. 13.

    Twelve members answered roll call. Visitors included Sue Placke (William Barrett Travis Chapter DRT) and Judy Matejowsky (pro- spective member) of Ledbetter.

    Hostesses for the meeting were Elizabeth Freeman and Marble.

    President Imogene Williams called the meeting to order. The open- ing prayer was offered by Chaplain Marilyn Miller. The pledges of alle- giance to the flags of the United States and Texas were led by Jo Ann Null of Lytle.

    Secretary Joyce Stancik read the minutes of the last meeting. The min- utes were approved as presented.

    Treasurer Mary Dupont presented the financial report.

    Bessie Bean made a motion that the Chapter donate S25 to the DRT Museum for the Texas Centennial Project Fund. Betty Hill seconded the motion. The motion carried.

    Miller gave a report on the pos- sible locations for the DRT Informa- tional Workshop. She reported that the DRT Chapter could reserve the La Grange City Hall meeting room at no charge. Time and agenda were dis- cussed. It was decided that the Infor- mational Meeting for the public would be held on Feb. 3 at the La Grange City Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. A Dutch Treat lunch will be optional. Members of the Monument Hill Chapter will lead the meeting and answer ques- tions. Cookies, juice and coffee will be prepared by the DRT members.

    Secretary Stancik requested that all members have their volunteer hours ready to report at the next meet- ing, March 3.

    President Williams appointed a Nominating Committee. The Com- mittee will be Darlene Argo, Dupont and Hill. They will present a prospec- tive slate of officers for the 2001 -2003 at the March meeting. Officers will be installed at the April meeting.

    Williams read a letter inviting the Monument Hill Chapter of DRT to participate in a Grave Marking at the Eagle Lake Masonic Cemetery for Thomas Zumalt. The ceremonies will be held March 31 at 11 a.m. Marble made a motion that our Chapter par- ticipate in the ceremonies. Hill sec- onded the motion. The motion carried. All members are invited to attend and participate.

    Albrecht made a motion that our Chapter donate $25 to the DRT Cradle. Bean seconded the motion. The motion carried.

    Committee reports were then read. Registrar Albrecht reported that Linda Hass had decided not to pursue mem- bership at this time.

    Hill, CRT sponsor, reported that our CRT participated in Christmas at the French Legation. They also par- ticipated in a tree planting at the Lega- tion.

    The meeting adjourned with a delicious luncheon served by the host- esses.

    Clothing tour is March 13 4-H members from Colorado

    County will have the opportunity to participate in a tour of Mission Valley Fabrics in New Braunfels and Mullins Square in Austin.

    The tour will take place Tuesday, March 13, and is limited to the first 25 4-H members and adult leaders who sign up.

    Mission Valley Fabrics manufac- tures denim, Mullins Square designs and specialty clothing items.

    Anyone wishing to go on the tour must register by calling or coming by the County Extension Office no later than Friday, March 2.

    Participants will need to wear walking shoes and bring a sack lunch.

    Yearbook update By Jenna Hoffman

    Raider Review Staff The annual staff has been hard at

    work preparing for the 2000-2001 yearbook.

    Students were given the opportu- nity to put down a payment of $15 in order to reserve a book.

    Staff members are creating their pages that relate back to the theme "2001: A Raider Odyssey".

    This year's yearbook is being dedicated to Coach Russell Roark.

    Orders will be taken one final time March 6-8, during all lunches.
